Riley knows OU move to SEC is bad for the football program

Good for the athletic department budget, but makes path to the CFP significantly harder.

I am sure the whole PAC is rejoicing. USC is immediately relevant, and the conference is relevant again. And Riley will be relevant in the CFP race for years to come. Quarterback whisperer in a recruiting hotbed…easy decision.

OKlahoma State will run the Big 12. They will be in a much better position playoff wise.

Cincy and UCF have a lot of work to do facilities wise to catch up to programs like OSU, TCU and Baylor. I was noticing the other day worlds of difference between UCF stadium and most of the B12 stadiums.

answered. But, here it is anyway.

Had Oklahoma known that this move to the SEC was inadvertently going to cost them Lincoln Riley, do you think they still make the move?

He never has to find our whether he would have been able to translate success to the much tougher SEC. And, within a couple of years, I believe he will own the Pac12 at USC, especially with NIL to help him.

Great question, 76er®.

As we have learned, a big time coach (or lack thereof) can have a 10 - 15 year impact.

Not that TNet posters opinions make any difference, so I'll go ahead.

(*) No, U of OK would not have gone to the SEC if they thought that would cost them L.Riley.
