Report cards on new coordinators

Dec 7, 2022, 1:19 PM

Streeter - Incomplete ... looked dumb w/ DJU5 taking snaps ... genius w/ CK2 behind center

Goodwin - B - Clemson offense put the D in a bad spot very, very often. Still won ACC title.

Dline did not appear to be as dominant as the experts predicted.

Streeter C+
Goodwin B-

But both are improving and for first year coordinators I think they performed well considering.

Men at 25 play football. Men at 40 play tennis. Men at 60 play golf. Have you noticed as men get older their balls get smaller.

Yeah, we'll get a much better idea after next season. I don't foresee any major changes in the off season. Nor should they be. Both will get a good test for the orange bowl. Wes and Conn both did a great job (ratings wise) bringing in the Jimmy and Joes this cycle. I'd give Streeter and Co a C (on paper). Only because of no RB and settled for WR.

Fair.

Special Teams - D not an F because of Potter. Hope we got someone in the bullpen. Smith punt in Charlotte was good.

XT and Bresee missed a lot of playing time on the D side***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

XT has missed a lot during his entire career

not a good metric.

Streeter/Dabo C (unsure Streeter was calling the shots)

Wes C+

Clemson had better personnel and was favored to heavily favored in every game.

Streeter grade shared with Coach Swinney, who has the play sheet and talking lots while offense on field?

DLine not being as dominant as everyone expected. Is that a coordinator issue or a position coach issue?

Streeter - D+ - he struggled all season in playcalling, and DJ vs. Cade doesn't account for baffling plays like abandoning the run game.

Goodwin - C+ - Agreed he was put in a bad spot in most games. He still had effectively the same #2 defense as last year though, and they struggled a lot this year. He was also really bad at making adjustments at the half.
