Realistic look at what is going to happen after this season

Apr 10, 2015, 9:24 AM

I think that barring a tremendous turnaround, the moves that will be made are fairly clear cut. Let's go back to last season, there was no logical reason for Leggett not to make any staff changes, yet none were made. It was actually a bit mind boggling that none were made. Leggett and DRad may be alot of things, but dumb is not one of them. Both know the natives are somewhat restless. Leggett knew that this team had potential to struggle, and by all accounts the best team should be the one for the 2016 season with most of the big bats returning. Pitching will be a question but the young stronger bats will return. Unless there is a dramatic turnaround, Jack and DRAD will meet post season and true to the 'review and stipulations' that were given last year, staff changes will be made by Leggett. This way actions will be taken in an effort to satisfy the grumblings. Jack comes back with staff changes, a new baseball facility, and a potentially solid team. Now, if 2016 is deemed "unsuccessful"... Leggett's job security will come into play.

I think you may be right. Either way, we have to pay Jack

I don't think Leggett should be fired but ask him to resign. However, I don't think D'Rad has the nads to do that. He will require him to get rid of a minimal amount of assistants and keep him another year and watch the program free fall for another year. It will be destroyed by then and the next coach will have to start from scratch. I'm not overly optimistic that big changes are coming. Maybe one assistant. Pepperoni certainly needs to go but he seems to be joined at the hip to Leggett. Much like Spence and Bowden.

U have ruined my day, week and month!! U seem like a responsible person that thought this thing threw and U reach the conclusion that Jack will be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!what A HORRIBLE CONCLUSION!!Jack should not even be here now and U want him to drag us even farther down>>>6 (or lower) in SC and U want to go lower? I guess if we win 10 games next year U think should get another year?Jack should have been gone 5 years ago!!!!!

ONLY WHAT HE IS DOING NOW. FIRE HIM.

And I judge people on the now, not the past. Give him an admin job if you want.

To be perfectly honest....

Apr 10, 2015, 9:46 AM

assuming Leggett doesn't voluntarily retire at seasons end, if DRad chooses not to fire him, it will speak volumes about the AD's commitment to the long term success of Clemson's baseball program.

At this point, barring a miraculous turnaround of biblical proportions, there would be no justifiable explanation for Leggett being retained.

Just my .02 cents.

In DRADs stance...he is taking action, forcing Leggett to make staff changes 'or else'.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Hopefull he had the "or else" conversation after last season***

He did not...or else there would have been staff changes.

Hey....

Apr 10, 2015, 10:02 AM

if Leggett insists on hanging himself, maybe DRad is going to give him all the rope he wants.

Bowden got himself fired as the result of stubborn pride and if Leggett insists on following suit, hopefully DRand will be more than willing to accomodate him.

If the admin has to give you an ultimatum to make changes in order for you to improve your job performance, then why are you holding the title of and being paid as a head coach?

That reasoning is ludicrus. Be a grown man, do your job and be accountable for the results (good or bad).

This program has been trending downward for too long and we need someone who can re-set the direction. Saying that Jack needs one more year to turn it around is living in a state of delusion because he has arealdy had his chance and has proven that he is incapable.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You're speculating, I think he did have the or else last yr.***

I would cut him if he won 80% of the remaining games. I have seen enough of the
jack lelg.

IMHO if they had the 'or else' conversation last year, then we would have seen coaching changes. This is the 'or else' year.
