Past 2 weeks have been rough for the state of FL. It's got to be hard to concentrate and not stress out over things back in your home state. Praying for all our Tigers, their families and everyone else from FL.

Hoping all their family members are safe and the damage is not great.

Amen. As an Insurance Adjuster who travels to work these types of Hurricane, Tornado and other storm claims I sincerely feel for these people. Want to do so much but you are limited by the insurance companies. In 2004 I was reprimanded for giving out packages of water. In 2004 I was located near Melbourne Florida. Those poor people got hit by 2 or 3 hurricanes in less than 3 months. When I got home the areas I worked were hit by tornadoes,

What makes hard for many is the hurricane deductibles. Many are $2000 to $6000. So I would say money is what many people will need.

Prayers for all affected by the storm of the century.

Thanks for sharing that. While most feel compelled to help, loading up vans of diapers and paper towels and other supplies, then heading to the disaster site makes for heart warming videos and stories, it's usually a big hindrance.

In my job, I worked with and for scepd and fema, it usually turned into a disaster itself trying to dispose of and move said donated items. Leave it to the professionals and donate money to a reputable charity.

If you can get those supplies to a local grass roots organization or church they will get it to the people that need it more efficiently than through the government agencies. I just got home from Asheville. We loaded 2 buggies at Sam’s Club and I took probably 50 pieces of cold weather clothing from our closets and took them to the place I worked when we lived in Asheville. One of the supervisors there does a LOT of local charity work and he has the network to get that stuff to the folks that need it - right now. He was really happy to see the stuff we brought. One of the local breweries had put together a list of what the local charities and nursing homes and places like that needed and we bought items they said they needed. They know better what their neighbors need than the government agencies and big business charities. It put food and clothing in their hands tonight instead of money in some account somewhere waiting for a bureaucrat somewhere to decide what they need and then take so long to get it to them that the need will have passed. We lived through 2 awful hurricanes in Miami and St Thomas and know these folks have immediate needs that their local charitable networks will be much more efficient at helping with.
