Plays over the middle in 2022

I missed seeing pass plays over the middle this season. Assuming the coordinator calls the play, who is currently on the roster that can catch it? Is there a slot receiver in the portal that we should sign?

Just spitballing, but it might be the deliverer of the passes hasn't had the game slow down enough for him(yet?). That could make those quick decision throws into a crowded area of the field more dangerous for the offense to try. Possibly, the play caller has been sorely limited in the range of plays available to call?

But a Renfrow clone sure would be a huge blessing.

under-appreciated loss, as he was slated to be that slot guy. We really had no one who had the quick separation to run the slants and such. Beaux Collins emerged late and then had to move back outside with the injuries to Ngata, William's and Ross.

Next year Spector, Stellato and Will Taylor should all bring needed depth in the slot

When your QB often misses high and with power, throws over the middle are especially dangerous. Better to throw it to the sideline where it can just sail out of bounds and where there aren't as many defenders. Even with that I feel like they targeted the middle more frequently this year than last.
