You've either had it, you have it now, or you're going to get it

MauldinT, where are you???

The UK folks are still high on herd immunity

.....they're still testing antibodies. Currently 96% of people in the UK have antibodies (vaccine, infection, whatever). And only 1,100 people a week are dying from covid, and they only have 120,000 cases a day now.

I've never had it, lol. Never tested positive. Now my wife has had it. Oldest son has had it. Middle son has had it. Youngest son has had it. ALL TWICE. Me, I just get sick right along with them and test negative, every time.

I'd expect if you went back in time and transported your 2018 self to today in a time machine, you'd get bad sick with covid in a matter of a few days.

Correct BigDaddy. Mss as he’s no difference if you have had 2 shots, 4 shots or zero shots. By the way it seems to me the folks that have had Covid and zero shots seem to be doing just fine.

Certainly not my experience...

at my company, employees that are vaccinated a faring a LOT better than the unvaxxed, in terms of severity of illness. The only people we have out past the initial 5-day isolation time are unvaxxed.

I'm vaxxed and had first booster and was due to 2nd booster and then got covid. Was pretty mild for me.

Now, I will say this latest variant sure seems to be a bit less harsh then previous ones, but also much more transmissible.

Obviously anecdotal evidence.

Are the unvaccinated at your company first time infected or second infections? My wife and I are not vaccinated , same for most of the family. We all had Covid about 20 months ago. We’ve had many exposures to Covid positive people since we were infected and not a single one of us have had a second infection. Small sample but that’s our family experience.

My BIL is blowing chunks with a high fever. No vax ever.

And this is his third go with it, and the worst so far according to sisterinlaw.

That seems to be out of the norm from what we are seeing. Hope he gets well soon.

If he got a "vaccine" he wouldn't have COVID.

Vaccines are products that produce immunity to a specific disease. When you are immune to a disease, it means you are protected against that disease (you can be exposed to it without becoming sick). Most vaccines are given by injection (needle), but some are given orally (by mouth) or nasally (sprayed into the nose).

Seems the head of a pharmaceutical company needs some understand of what a vaccine does.

not sure where you got that definition, looks like an oversimplification that doesn't really give the whole story, but no vaccine gives 100% immunity, that's why community vaccination rates are so important

like influenza vaccine, you do get breakthrough cases, but usually symptoms are less severe.
