or he can be Terry Don Phillips, and make an actual man's decision: bold, risky, filled with both faith and prescience.
Unfortunately, Nerfball strikes me as everyman's politician, intelligent but not imbued with the j'ne sais quoi that real Leaders have.
He strikes me as a bull-sh*tter, and not a bull.
One thing I would suggest to Nerfball is to "read the crowd" very well. He may be a "new" AD. But if he keeps backing the current village idiot HC, then it's likely that the crowd will take out their 13-year angst on him at the same time they come for the head of the HC.
The time is coming. There will be people in the streets with flaming torches. They'll set up a guillotine on the lawn, and they'll sharpen it on a couple of liberal IRS agents. All the exits to the city will be blocked. Tommy Bowden thought he could smile and talk gently to the end of time as well. Uh.... no.
