kids may want to come play for him because he knows what it takes to be in the nfl and can prepare them. also id assume he has a top notch staff..

on the negative side i just dont see him putting up with todays rules of having his players be free agents every season and so on.

i think its either going to go really good or really bad..i dont see any in between with this

We don't know if kids want to play for him. They may not remember much about him when he was a big deal and may think he is old without a personality. The key will be the cash I would imagine.

Who he is is mostly irrelevant. The fact UNC has agreed to a 20 mil NIL budget will definitely help him get better players. Beyond that it's up to him to coach them up and without an elite QB he's never been more than a mediocre coach. But i do think, at least initially, the whole pipeline to the NFL angle will be a good selling point if a player has to decide whether to take UNCs bag of cash or someone else's, but make no mistake without the bag of cash UNC won't even be in the discussion.

Thats what gets me about how Dabo said things will be better after revenue sharing.... it doesn't make any sense to me. You will still have NIL on top of revenue sharing. I know he said there will be a central clearinghouse to review the deals, but with UNC "committing" $20 million a year in NIL on top of revenue sharing, I don't see it being any different.

It really is crazy. It is beyond NFL free agency.... it is complete and total free agency without a salary cap.

Look at MLB and the difference in the payroll between large and small market teams. The small market teams really have no chance of competing and end up just developmental leagues for the good prospects they get to draft until their first contract comes up for a large market team to grab them. At least there is a draft and the worst teams pick first.

I see no change with the trajectory even with revenue sharing. With how the SEC is complaining about only getting 3 schools in the CFP, the SEC / Big 10 are going to break from the NCAA.

I'm all for the free market.... let's see where this goes b/c its going to get even crazier.

As revenue sharing starts and the athletes become employees of the school and get to get a union, I hope they put in place contracts to make a person stay lets say 2 years if they sign a NIL contract and I think a player should only have one free transfer then have to sit out a year. But that will only hold up if the NCAA continues to exist.
