Long & apologize. I'm probably 2-3 times older than most who post here. Graduated CU 1974; joined Iptay 1975 & became an Iptay rep 1976. Current Champions donor & consider it a priviledge to support the school I love. Buy 4 season tics. It's a struggle since I'm on a fixed income but still find a way.
My brother n law is a coot & for years gave me hell especially when they beat us. Finally I had enough and asked him- "What yrs did you attend USC?" "Oh, I never went to school there." "Ok, what level coot club membership are you?" "Oh, I'm not a Gamecock Club member." "Ok. How many season FB tics you buy?" "Oh, I dont go to the games - just an avid fan." My reply - "until you put your money and your ### where your mouth is, shut the hell up!" Problem solved.
Being a former business owner, there is a danger that comes with success - complacency and heightened expectations without the effort. Left untethered, it leads to regression. Constructive opines are fine & expected, but rather than ##### about issues we can only speculate, let's get behind this team & staff & trust them to get it turned around. After all, I come from an era where success was defined as a 7 & 4 season and capped with a Gator Bowl trip.
Seen several posts with threats & challenges to others to drop their Iptay contributions in protest. Understand, Iptay supports all sports scholarships in addition to the band, weight room, academic enrichment, etc. If you want to take your $30/yr & drop your membership & go play in another sandbox, by all means do so. But dont return when we're back on top wanting back on our playground. We dont need you!

and Bowden years make these days still seem like a dream. I've been fortunate enough to travel to CFB Playoffs and Championships that I NEVER thought would happen. NEVER.
Down seasons happen to all teams. Heck...this may turn out to not be a down season from a Clemson Historical perspective.
What is shocking is the difference between this year's expectations and the current play. It feels like if we had never had those championships, people wouldn't be so upset...
We'll be better, and I hope that it's soon...

I love my Tigers. We'll get this straightened out, but it won't be the fanbase that does it! Let's support the players and coaches who want to play the game... and who want to coach the game. If they don't fall into those categories, then they need to go somewhere else... but that's another story!

+1. You have me by 9 years. You've worked hard. You contribute. Few under 40 will relate to that.
All that said, no Clemson team has done less with more than this 2021 team. Friends and people on the street ask me what's wrong with Dabo. They say he looks angry. They say he looks enraged on the sideline.
I have no doubt he's befuddled by the complete breakdown of the Offense on this team - his side of the ball. His recruits. BV has taken care of business on Defense. Dabo and Tony and at least 4 other coaches own these recruiting misses, player development breakdowns, and play calling bombs on the Offense.
Dabo has a reason to be upset. And rest assured 2022 will be an improvement.

Agreed. Told my son when we were in Tampa for Natty that we were living in the golden age. Appreciate it for it never lasts.

I respect your opinion. But, the kernel of the problem is in your post. Dabo appears to refuse to innovate. Any business that does not innovate gets overtaken and eventually dies. The most successful businesses are those that are always planning for the next challenge, not sitting back on their laurels. He has coaches on this staff that just are not getting the job done. The game planning is pedestrian ad the players do not appear to be prepared for game day. Ross has regressed and his position coach should be in his face to challenge him to improve. If the coach is afraid of hurting Ross' feelings, then appeal to his own self-interest. What NFL scout is going to take a chance on Ross after this train wreck of a season. He is only one example. Forget the transfer portal, I am concerned about the decommits that may start happening. We have games left and have a real chance of losing 4 of them unless the coaches get their you know what together immediately.

I am only 9 years younger than Rambo, and, with all due respect, the argument that we are not as bad as we used to be (including the Hootie years in the early 1970s) does not cut it in football, business, or life. People on top who don't adapt and improve perish instead.
