Can you make the argument that Cade's performance last night was best in Clemson QB history?
Let's look at numbers.
Two challengers that come to mind (and if I missed one, reply in and offer it as a contrary)
Clemson vs. Scar in 2016 D Watson was 26/32 for 347 with 6 TD's and 1 INT and a 10.86 YPR with a QBR of 92.3. Now, is Scar 2016 better than App State 2024??? You make your own judgement there.
One other comparison could be D Watson vs. UNC in 2014 D Watson was 27/36 for 435 yards with 6 TD's and 1 INT and a 12.1 YPR and a 95.8 QBR
Cade last night was 24/26 for 378 with 5 TD's and 0 INT's. He also added 2 rushing TD's and a 14.55 YPR with a QBR of 99.6
App State probably ain't as good as UNC in 2014, but App State may be equitable to Scar in 2016???
One could make the argument as best ever performance by a Clemson QB ....unless I am missing a QB performance not listed above. No question Top 3 ever.

no, great night to be a TIGER fan, but it was App State. When he balls out against NCS he will be hero to all here except the trolls and fans who prefer living in depression.

Woody’s game against NC State in 2001 (I think it was 01 anyway) has to be up there too.

And worthy for best ever QB performance for sure
Most of Woody's damage that day was with legs, not his arm.
Woodrow Dantzler set a school record by accounting for six touchdowns. Woody established a record for total yards, threw four touchdown passes and added two scores on the ground
He had 184 yards rushing on the day.
It was epic.

If the Tigers and CK play Nancyst the way they abused the Appst hillbillies, Doreen's leghumpers won't be a problem, and they will be sent running back to Raleigh with their tails between their legs. Go Tigers!

99.6 QBR with passing over 20 times is one of the highest ever in NCAA. I think I heard it was last matched in 1999 when throwing for 5tds. Cade was compared to Vince Young stats at one point also but can't specifically recall the numbers but passing and rushing TDs something something.

For big game performances, you can't beat Watson's 2016 NC game vs Bama where he was 35/56 for 420 yards with 0 ints, 3 passing TDs and 1 rushing TD. And in the 2015 NC game loss vs Bama he was 30/47 for 405 yards with 4 TDs, 1 int, and 73 yards rushing.
Even in the lone loss in 2016 to Pitt, Watson was 52/70 for 580 yards and 3 TDs, but the 3 interceptions, especially the one in the end zone, may have cost us the game.
In Trevor Lawrence's 2018 NC game vs Bama, he was 20/32 for 347 yards with 3 TDs and 0 ints.

Yes, the DW INT in endzone vs. Pitt lost the game for sure.

I agree with BigAl31, and will add that Watson took head on a highly physical Bama defense in 2016. They were trying to intimidate Deshaun. Big hits and a targeting against him that didn't get called.

Boyd was 30-44 for 426 against State in 2012. 5 passing and 3 rushing TDs.
