not taking transfers is a huge mistake on Dabos part.

I clearly understand the philosophical loyalty part of Dabo stance on transfers. “We’re loyal to you and we want you to be loyal to us”. I get it. Here’s where Dabo‘s philosophy falls apart. Since Clemson dominance ended after 2020, the football landscape has changed, and the top programs are poaching star players from lesser programs to fill holes created by injury, or recruiting busts. This is how the top programs stay on top now. Clemson is not a mid major, Clemson is a destination school and has the leverage to draw from other programs. Clemson can employee strategy of going out and taking star players from lesser schools to shore up weaknesses, like defensive end, for example, this year. Our competitors are doing just this, and each year we’re falling further and further behind. For the fourth consecutive year, Clemson will likely not be a part of the college football playoff. Dabo is paid to win football games, not to stick to a philosophy that is not working. What’s worse, , at this point Dabo was unlikely to back off of his philosophy, because that is admitting he was wrong. If we continue to stick to a strategy that is not working, simply due to a philosophical stance, it is, in effect , Dabo failing to do his job as head coach. To me, it would be like a telecommunications company refusing to offer mobile phone plans 30 years ago because they thought it was just a “fad”and would die out. It would be the telecommunications company that would die. Clemson football is on this track. If Dabo does not reverse his stance and implement a strategy of using experienced players to plug holes in his program, we will not be able to keep up with the top programs. Soon, those 2018 national championship T-shirts will start to fade, and Clemson‘s dominance will be a distant memory.

Colorado is 6-2, just like us.
Vandy is 6-3 with a win over Alabama.

Louisville has a reported 24 roster transfers right now. They embarrassed us last night.

So, what is your point, exactly?

I was going to say the same thing. It is a tightrope getting mercenaries to "come into the fold" Kiffin has done a pretty good job, Buckeyes, Bama and UGA can get who they want when they want. I can't imagine many kids wanting to transfer here as Dabo pretty much demeans the process and lack of culture. If we were recruiting 5* it would be different but we're losing top-ranked prospects & commits almost daily.

What is it that you would like to hear this morning, after last night? If you are so rattled by people’s anger, maybe Sunday after a shocking loss, on Tigernet, may not be a safe space for you.

Should we ignore all the problems Dabo has welcomed and just talk about old playoff and championship wins while everything around the program is being burnt to the ground?

You have to ignore guys like Tigercook if...

you are looking for substantive sports discussion, especially if things aren't going well. He has nothing to add, but he looks for chances to insult others who are actually discussing reality. Virtue signaling perhaps? Who know... who cares? Point is, don't waste your time clicking on his posts - nothing there of value.

Not using the portal is not the root of our problems. Too easy to blame that.

Army & Navy are having a great year. Clemson got out coached last night. Shockingly, we could have won the game if we make those FGs. Our last drive could have been a winning drive. Stop blaming the portal. I'm hoping Dabo and other coaches figure out what went wrong and fix it.
