Furman pretty much every time they meet ... throughout history.
Furman was briefly competitive with Clemson in the 1970s when Joe Williams was their Coach, but still, they were not superior.
Not sure why Furman would suddenly eclipse Clemson in 2022.

Not sure why Furman would suddenly eclipse Clemson in 2022.
They haven't played each other since Bob Richey turned Furman to a top 3 team in the SoCon every year. Look at the upsets Furman had had in the last 4 years. Brad won't even go there. I don't think they even played when Niko Medved started turning things before Richey took over. I think it is like 7 years since they played. Furman could have a break out season with almost everyone back...

Got a Wake transfer too. Point guard Carter Whitt who had started 19 games. Decent player that will probably improve with 3 yrs left.

Most of predictions I have seen has Clemson in the bottom 3rd of the conference. That might have been one. One writer regarding the ACC-Big matchups indicated it was the bottom third worst match up of teams in the power rankings. Unless Clemson brings in one last really good piece in the portal which is highly unlikely, they won't be predicted any higher than 10th in the ACC imo.

us the results we wanted, he typically (maybe all but 2 seasons) has finished higher than where we were projected so the sour taste people have about last year may be weighing things down a little much for what this team has.
