CLEMSON, S.C. — The No. 17 (Top Drawer Soccer) Clemson men's soccer team returns to Historic Riggs Field on Tuesday night for its final inter-conference matchup of the season against the No. 19 (Top Drawer Soccer) Florida International Panthers. The battle of top-20 teams will kick off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ACCNX.
Clemson will be looking to bounce back from its 2-0 loss in Syracuse on Friday. Clemson is in second place in the Atlantic Division of the ACC, with Louisville leading the charge at 5-2. The Tigers and Cardinals will square off on Friday in the final match of the regular season.
Tuesday marks the seventh all-time meeting between this pair, with Clemson holding a 4-1-1 advantage. The Tigers have outscored the Panthers 16-3 all-time, dating back to the teams' first meeting in 1982. The Tigers have the momentum in the series, winning each of the last two meetings. FIU's lone victory of the series came in upset fashion on Nov. 10, 1985 when the unranked Panthers knocked off the No. 3 Tigers.
Starting in net for Clemson will be goalkeeper George Marks, who, with a clean sheet, would move into a tie for third on Clemson's all-time solo shutout leaderboard. The offense has been led by junior forwards Isaiah Reid and Mohamed Seye, whose 12 and 10 points, respectively, are first and second on the team. Luis Felipe Fernandez-Salvador and Ousmane Sylla join Seye with 10 points apiece.
