Couple questions. Saw where the kid from Pitt transferring to USC (real one) is receiving a multi million dollar deal. What happens if these kids fall flat on their face and dont produce or decide to quit the game or incur a career ending injury? Do they sign some sort of contract with the donor whereby the money is returned? What about the taxing? Uncle Sam wants his share and for sure will get it. A 17 yr old working at McDonalds has withholding so what about these athletes? This is the most chaotic mess ever imaginable. Next thing colleges will be trading players. Geez!

I would assume it depends on the contract. We will never know the details of each individual contract. I'm sure the terms vary tremendously from contract to contract.

This kid had to have a contract ready to sign before he announced his transfer. That should be illegal. That’s part of what’s wrong with this mess.

It's not illegal but against NCAA rules. IMO give one school the death penalty and all of this mess with transfers is solved.
