ND and tv money …

Just curious bc I have no idea … but does anybody know or have an idea if we added ND finally what the money numbers look like as far the ACCN? Iv seen numbers about the sec deal and that’s the reason no team will leave the big 10 or even big 12 (or Tamu form the sec ) bc of the differences in money… just curious if anyone has a real
Idea how much it would actually increase the ACC money.

I’m sure hahah was just curious in reality how much they would raise the number … but IMO the chances got even lower with the announcement of a 12 team playoff bc conference champ just became that much less important

The 4 byes will go only to conference champions. Being conference champion just became much more important.

Yea I just don’t see possibly having a BYE with an top 4 seed is what would sway ND to join when they know they have a much greater chance of being in now with 12, or if that outweighs the millions of dollars

The ACCN would get the few leftover games from NBC. I don't believe adding ND would have a huge impact on TV dollars.
The benefit to the ACC and other member schools would be adding ND's historical tradition and prestige. As much as I dislike ND and hate to give them any credit, this would be a significant gain for the conference and likely ensure it's survival.

I don’t think that’s accurate. ND has a national fanbase and has proved for decades that they can go it alone in football and be financially viable. I think adding ND to the conference for football would be in the realm of adding an Ohio State or Texas.

I'm not questioning ND's national TV appeal at all. I know ND fans here in Texas. This issue is how much increased TV revenue would be generated for other member schools if they joined the ACC.
NBC has the rights to a minimum of 7 ND football games per year. ND will renew with NBC indefinitely even if they join the ACC.
So, for ACC conference TV revenue with ABC/ESPN, the impact would be muted quite a bit. We might be stuck watching each and every Clemson/ND game on NBC at an off-kilter kickoff time like we did last year. UGH!

When ND plays on NBC does the other team get paid something? It would seem they have to be paid.

The NBC contact runs for 4 more years. It pays Notre Dame about 15 million annually. That is about 60% of what Wake (and other ACC members) received from the ACC last year.
They need to join a conference.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of if they joined eventually NBC being out the picture … which could be far fetched and unrealistic I don’t know … but even with that nbc money would that not go to the acc as well

Just ND.
ND will be with NBC forever. There would be no logical reason for them to end that relationship after joining the conference.

Like I've said on other threads, let ND keep whatever money NBC gives them if that is the hang-up that keeps them from joining the conference. Because they already have a TV contract they should be given that benefit. I mean, really folks, without ND, the ACC is going downhill fast while our neighbor conference grows.
