My recommendation for our new DC

Dec 5, 2021, 4:08 PM

If BV leaves which it looks as if he will I recommend Ron Roberts the DC at Baylor. I don't know a lot about him other than watching the game against OK State yesterday. The Baylor defense looked as good as any I have seen lately. They were like a BV defense where they seemed to always be in the right place every time.

Dabo has known for days now so he already has a plan in place. I don't believe he has made many hiring mistakes. I will stick with his instincts.

Dabo has says he always has a list of names to fill coaching vacancies.

It's part of the head coach's job to deal with assistant turnover.

While I think the QB development was screwed and makes things look bad, I assume he knows who he wants for DC.

Based on yesterdays games Dan Lanning would be a terrible hire as DC

So, making a recommendation based on seeing one game probably isn’t wise.

I was very impressed with Baylor’s defense yesterday too, but don’t how good they have been

I suspect that coach Swinney is well prepared for situations such as this and he will quickly find a top notch replacement for Venebles, coach Saban does it every year and I assure you that Dabo is equal to him when it becomes necessary to replace a staff member. The new guy will be top notch. Count on it. Dabo has no equal where football coaching is concerned. I am not concerned about our defense next year. Or the next or the next!

Sometimes going back to the past will work so I'm thinking Marion Hobby may be a consideration?

I don’t think he likes recruiting, and his position groups in the NFL haven’t exactly lit the world on fire.
