My last. “Ism”,

Team who almost won are not good teams. Teams who almost lost are good teams.! Sometimes there is a fine line between bad and good. The Tigers are good. A close win in Pittsburgh Saturday will make me a happy fan and I am convinced the Tigers can pull this one out on the road.

GO TIGERS

Offense just needs to cut the bonehead mistakes

if we do that, we improve, and it's more than enough to win with our defense. Especially if Davis gets back quicker that expected as is being speculated now. If we can grab the plays we're leaving on the field due to errors, it will be fine. That's why we here the words execution, but somehow don't want to hear that. This offense is not going to be a juggernaut this year, but it can be much more efficient. If it can grow in to that, we win out. That's the focus of the staff. They'll fix the personnel issues in the offseason. It's not like T-Net can spot them but they cannot. But they aren't being fixed in October.

We left 4-5 chunk plays on the board last night. Make those, easy win

Same old, same old. Happening every week. Saying the same thing every week. We have been spoiled, and it's hard to appreciate just barely winning. Looks like we better get used to these down-to-the-wire games. It's a real adjustment for me.

There has been incremental improvement

young backs are for real, TE finally showed up last night, DJ should have had better stats without the drops and just flat out blown plays either via penalty, drops or missed blocks. It most definitely isn't pretty. It's not going to be this year. But it can be more efficient. Make the plays that are there. Grind things out and control the clock to keep the D fresh. There is no magic bullet this year

It has been a trademark of Dabo's tenure that his teams

almost universally find ways to win these close games, instead of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Even though we are 4-2 this year, the team HAS found ways to win close games in three of those four wins. No stretch to say we could easily be undefeated, or 1-5. That is how close ALL the games other than SC State High School have been.

Take 2015 Notre Dame, or 2016 Louisville as examples. Both those games were just as close as what we have seen this year. The difference is that in those games, the offense propped up the defense in relatively high scoring games. This year, the incredible play of the defense has BAILED OUT an inept offense for the most part.

Pitt has demonstrated a fairly prolific offense so far. Our own offense will have to operate on a much higher level for us to win that one, I think. Even the best of defenses will have a zircon of a game somewhere along the line.

more success language. I get that, we heard it under Bowden for years. But you pointed out the major difference. With Bowden, we heard that in losses. With Dabo, most of the time, it's in wins
