My early Christmas Wishlist

Nov 28, 2022, 11:55 AM

Since the holiday season is here, I figured I would throw out several things on my Christmas wishlist for this year

1.) Fire Tyler Grisham and obtain an actual WR coach that can develop and improve our WR core. The talent is there to some extent, however; athletic ability will only get you so far without proper coaching and development.

2.) For Streeter to run Will Shipley, Phil Mafah and Kobe Pace until their legs fall off in the ACCCG and potential orange bowl (far fetched).

3.) For Dabo to suck up his own pride and either fire or re-assign Brandon Streeter. Get a competent OC that understands the flow of the game, can scheme players open, and properly utilize the talent we have at our disposal. (This item is likely on backorder for at least another season or two)

4.) For EJ Williams to promptly enter the transfer portal as soon as possible. *Criticism alert* it is clear that he has no interest in fighting for catches, finishing his routes, blocking defenders, or generally giving even a half decent effort when his number is called. I had extremely high hopes for him during his freshman campaign, but it has been an absolute slide to the bottom ever since. (I feel that I may get my wish on this one).

5.) For DJU to graduate in December, transfer to a school that better suits him, or to pursue his professional career outside of the game of football. I believe that the kid has a heart of gold, a strong work ethic, and truly cares about his team and teammates. However, his performance on the field simply is not up to snuff. I would love to see him be successful with another school if given the chance, I just believe that there are too many factors working against him at Clemson at this point. I have no idea if Cade or Vizzina will be any better come next spring, but I think its time we see what the other 5-stars in the stable might have to offer. I would love to see DJ win the next two games and "hopefully" finish his Clemson Career on a high-note.

6.) For Bresee, Thomas, and Ruke to elect to come back for one more year. Those three individuals could provide some veteran presence to the defense next year. At this point I am assuming that we lose Henry, Murphy, Davis, and one or two depth players as well to the portal. It could be tough sledding without their return.

7.) My final wish of the Christmas season is for Jeff Scott to come back home. I know there is a relatively low chance that he does, especially since it would be a significant pay cut. However, he is a super star on the recruiting trail and was an important part of Clemsons ascension into the elite group of college football.
