Daniel's Big Day
Daniel's Big Day I gave up the fight to ask students to get to the noon games early. I tried for years to convince them to go out hard on Thursdays and get some rest Friday before a home game at noon, but to no avail. I am a beaten man and I know I can't win that battle.
I gave up tryin

This is a nit to pick, I'm sure, but a significant one

Mickey, you have misspelled Daniel Rodriguez's name wrong every single time in this story. There is no "Q" in Rodriguez. The misspelling is ironic, given how much respect you're otherwise paying to Daniel. I think it would be proper to correctly spell his name. I know it's not intentional--you do it every time you mention Rich Rodriguez too--but it really needs to be fixed.

If you are nit picking isn't it by definition insignificant?

Doesn't look like a Q or q to me-probably another font-looks like a g (I just pushed the G character)

Guess someone saw the comment and fixed the article. It was a Q (q) when I made my comments, and now it's a G (g). That's all I ask.

It was very clearly a "Q" when first posted...it has since been changed to a "G". Thanks Mickey (or whoever proofed the article).

Ever since my oldest son turned six, 11 now, we have taken him to one game a year and he loves it. Gets excited every football season. My wife and I have followed the Daniel Rodriguez story even before he was officially a tiger. When we saw that Military Appreciation Day was against VaTech, we circled the date on our schedule and told our son that was the game he was going to this year. First thing he asked was if Mr. Rodriguez would be leading the tigers down the field. It made us proud that he paid attention to Daniel's story and what he has done for this country. So come hell or high water we will be in our seats screaming our heads of and cheering on Daniel as he leads another group of guys down the hill and to victory!

Great write-up, but this was a terrific story to tell. Very proud of Daniel and his service to our GREAT nation. Also, very proud of Dabo for giving this young man a chance. I will be there with bells on, early and loud, and most of my family will be there, too. It will be another great day to be a Tiger. There is something very special in those hills, and Saturday will be icing on the cake.
