Here's how the men did today in their first matches of the weekend.


Wissam Abderrahman: win 7-5 6-2 vs Baran Soyler of Georgia State

Noa Vukadin: loss 6-4 6-7 6-3 vs Michael Zheng of Columbia - this is actually an encouraging result despite the loss because Zheng was the national runner-up lat year ranked #2 in college and has pro potential.

Marko Mesarovic: loss 6-2 6-4 vs Cyrus Mahjoob of Georgia

Viktor Markov: loss 6-2 6-2 vs Atakan Karahan of South Carolina

Romain Gales: loss 6-4 6-1 vs Krish Arora of Georgia Tech

Maxwell Smith: win 3-6 7-6(4) 6-4 vs Filipe Costa of Georgia

Kaetan Mehta: loss 6-2 6-4 vs Gianluca Carlini of Georgia Tech

Stewart Aronson: win 6-3 6-0 vs Daniel Phillips of Arizona State

Matt Pitts: win 6-4 7-6(3) vs Rohan Sachdev of Georgia Tech


so the losses from Mesarovic, Markov and Gales don't look great but decent results elsewhere.

I'd include Mehta too, that just seems like a lot of Ls. Thanks for posting this. Hopefully better matches tomorrow.

Appreciate your analysis because you know the rankings of the guys.

As long as it makes us better for the spring and hopefully this next season we make the tournament.

really whereas Gales, Mesarovic and Markov should be important contributors. Bad thing about Markov's loss is that SC player is also a freshman. Gales and Mesarovic lost to lower lineup players at GT and UGA to which is why they aren't good losses.
