At Niko Medved this off season. He is the hot coach and will get a big job before Clemson can make run for him. Hate it...

Hubert played at UNC. Think he will get at least three years unless they have a Matt Doughtery awful season.

Everyone talks about Bob Richie is a good coach at Furman, but Niko was the one that built that program before Richie took it over as his assistant when Medved took the Drake job. The student body at CSU has really embraced the program that he has built:

Why wouldn't we be in the mix this off season? Buyouts? Don't think Neff pulls the trigger?
I've been critical of Amanda, but she's only been here next year 5 years. Talk about non support, giving away tickets to entice fans. But here's the key on keeping her: she has the 18th ranked class coming in which happens to include the 15th ranked McDonalds AA.
Brad doesn't have that. 4 years now we've heard recruiting is getting better. Plus 12 years. We all love Brad, good guy etc but the program is stagnant. So, let's make a run after Niko.

Not yes, but I don't expect UofL to take that risk. They are going to go bigger a poach another power conference coach. They have the capacity to do that. Niko Medved just isn't proven at that level yet. It is one of the reasons why I don't think they will go with Kenny Payne either unless desperate.
Heck, they even might make a grab at Nate Oats... which has the right feel actually.
And other say that even Bruce Pearl is interested... we will see if the pencil beards have any emergency class on that take.
Maryland is a bit more of an interesting place. They *might* struggle here with the NCState program (more expectations than the program can sustain).
I kinda expect them to go after someone with deep NE ties. I don't think they can draw Oats or similar so maybe a Payne-like coach fits.

You gonna fry me but we need a Dabo African American coach for BB to help recruiting at Clemson. Recruiting is our biggest nemesis and since we don’t have a great BB history and we run a clean program then we need the best recruiter we can get. Hamilton of FSU recruits and turns the coaching over to others. Getting both would be a bonanza.

That would be Valentine at Lloyla of Chicago. He played at Oakland(MI) and was an assistant at Michigan State. The thing I like about him is he will most likely be there a couple of years because this is his first season, and would be available in a couple of seasons when Brad might be gone.
Also saw where Xavier fans are not crazy about Steele. They expect to make the sweet sixteen almost every season, and if he is that unappreciated think he would look elsewhere and would do a great job at Clemson.

Speaking of Steele, Xavier is playing Providence on CBS Sports now. Also love Ed Cooley at Providence as an African American Coach who would do a great job. A very good recruiter and would give Clemson some ties to the NE area. He has a great personality also.
