Well, that's what Key was doing. His quote was taken completely out of context. Here's the whole quote: "They help you out and make sure you get your work done. If you're struggling in a subject, they have a certain tutor that helps you in that subject that will help you out with getting your grades up or whatever the case will be. I think that's really important to me, just because after college, you want to have a backup plan to football. You have to try to fail."
Sounds like he committed because he liked their equivalent to Vickery Hall. I'm ashamed that Clemson fans are bashing a recruit for making academics a priority in his life.

Seriously do lighten up! I think Yahoo sports ran an article on it today and they were basically taking shots at South Carolina and how the fans that attend their games are ones who pay money and have to work to get grades. It was a pretty funny comment!

I can appreciate that view and have no problem with clemson fans taking shots. I did have a problem with the yahoo blog and other stories. Felt bad for the kid. He makes a statement about what he considers a positive aspect of his future school and it was twisted to make the school look bad and make him look like a guy who just wants to get through college without learning anything. He didnt deserve the kind of attention he received.

People are basing him for admittedly choosing a school because the school in question has very low to no real academic standards.

SCAR for its reputation as being a place you can go and play football and not have to worry about being able to stick around through your playing years because of that whole school side of things.
It sure sounds like this Key kid made a wise choice. Good for him.
