They forced this 12 game on all of us as a money grab and added teams to stack the deck.
If they had just believed in themselves and kept the 4-team format, they just might have had two teams each in the 4-team CFP this year.

Despite automatic qualifiers, the B1G has a third of the teams on the playoff bracket and the SEC a quarter. It's the automatic qualifiers these conferences object to, and why the playoffs will expand quickly. Three SEC teams finished ranked higher than Clemson but missed the playoffs because of the auto qualifiers.

Well they always have most of their teams ranked pre season to be sure they keep their SOS up. Tried to prop up Mizzou and LSU for as long as they could this season.
Wish they would go ahead and break off.

Who cares anymore… college football is nothing more than pro sports. I now watch Clemson play but no one else. It’s no longer about the college, the game, the players, and the fans… it’s now about the money alone for the networks and the players.

I used to be able to watch any game with interest; now I can only watch our games. With the current setup, teams have no identity…no heart. Except Clemson…we are desperately trying to hang onto the principles of college athletics.

I don't know about crying. The push back may be that of the 3 SEC teams not in the playoff who are ranked above Clemson, one beat Clemson and the other 2 beat the team that beat Clemson.

Ranking system. In no world should Alabama be near the playoff with that awful evisceration laid upon them by Oklahoma. The Vandy loss is not great but it's their one oops.

SEC raided other conferences to grab $. Maybe you should be complaining to the conference, who added Texas (who took a spot) and Oklahoma (who knocked Alabama out of the playoffs).
Can’t remember if the additions came before or after expansion, but it was always understood that conference championship don’t would be automatic qualifiers. If anybody has a gripe, it is (holding nose) SCAR. At least they lost to good teams. Bama and Ole Miss need to blame themselves. Bama lost to Vandy and Oklahoma (at home in a rout). Ole Miss lost to Kentucky (at home) and Florida. Clemson lost to #2, #15, and 8-win Louisville, who (on the road) woodshedded the Kentucky team that beat Ole Miss at home.

The B1G would have 1/4, and the SEC 1/6…same as the ACC…and the PAC 12
I thought it was the byes and not the auto bids that the Big 2 were taking issue with. Who would argue that conference championship don’t belong in? SEC would be fine with having 3-loss teams in if the team was Alabama.

Must pain you SEC homers to see more BIG teams in than sec teams. Winning conference means something you can only beat who you play. I remember not too long ago a TCU team that got left out of playoffs because they were not in the BiG or SEC. Then got to play one of the SEC paper champions. If you are crying because you did not get in playoffs and you are ranked 13th did you really do anything to deserve to be in?

That’s called “ranking inflation” due to SEC bias. It’s just like grade inflation to get players into UGA. SEC teams beat up on each other and get lofty rankings simply because they beat an SEC team.

Sec is ranked that high bc of BS rankings and pre season polls … example : explain why mizz is ranked 19 with wins against who??… while Syracuse is 22 at 9-3 with a win against the number 6 team in the country.. and barely ranked. The rankings are ridiculous and prop certain conferences over others… Duke is another example finished 9-3… list in OT to smu but I don’t even believe they are ranked at all. Teams get boosted up for beating mediocre teams early in the year like lsu… mizz was ranked like number 4 to start the year lol that’s where the bs “strength of schedule “ numbers come from

Duke's schedule was so weak a good high school team would have gone 10-2. Their 9 and 3 means nothing.

All the SEC pain is self-inflicted.
They are the dog that caught the car.
They overloaded their conference with the best teams, they are clearly the best conference, much more so than before.
But now they are now cannibalizing themselves. UGA will no longer have a schedule that requires nothing more than getting past FL, TN and Auburn. It will be a gauntlet from here on out.
Ain’t no way they gonna add Clemson and FSU now. If they did, they would need six automatic qualifiers from a 12 team playoff!
The big 10 is the real winner. They are still a collection of below average teams with three or four really good teams at the top. They will always have three teams that have two losses or less and sometimes they might stumble across a fourth. I think there were three Big Ten teams this year that did not have Oregon or Ohio State on their schedule. Pendleton HS could go 11-1 in the Big Ten if they didn’t play Oregon or Ohio State.

cannibalization. UGA, Bama and LSU bought those NC's by hiring the better players. Since the NIL became legal those three NC winners had competition buying players. That drove the price up so far that even Bama, UGA and LSU couldn't outbid other teams and take all the hired guns off the market.

My thinking goes like this.
If you are not good enough to MAKE your conference championship game, then you ARE NOT one of the best teams in your conference. If you ARE NOT one of the best teams in your conference, then you ARE NOT one of the best teams in the country.
The B1G and SEC propaganda gets their teams VOTED a “do over”. No serious competitor believes in a system like that. It’s charity for the rich crybabies.

I've been thinking the same thing. Why would the SEC add anyone else? Running that schedule gets you beat to pieces. The mid and lower teams will beat you if you don't have your game on. I haven't even looked at the 2025 schedule yet except for Oklahoma. Sure, everyone has some creampuff games but looking at their's I see Michigan, Auburn, Texas, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri and LSU. That's tough.
