Turning a dead horse Offense into a dark horse. He’s saying “we are better than you think. We are a dark horse. You may not believe we can do it. But I believe in our guys, and I know we can do it. We, coaches and players, are in this together, and we are working this out and will prove the critics wrong.”
Dabo is taking responsibility while defending his coaches and players and sometimes his own middling play calls. But what I really like is he is building up the mindset of the Offense to join together and work through their lack of early season cohesiveness. It will take DJ & the skill players improving their timing, and coaches listening to DJ about what works best for him, but this week is a great time to show improvement.
As for the criticism of the Offense and coaching play calls, it’s been warranted to a reasonable degree. But Dabo and the team are up to the challenge. I expect the Offense to be more aggressive and start turning this weekend. And this stellar Defense is really working hard and dominating!
