Kids playing college

Football. I don't understand the whole reclassification these high school kids do. Takes 99% of kids 4 years to graduate from high school but some how these athletes are just like I'm going to forgo my senior year and go straight to college. I know kids do it but how much of a school work load are these kids doing to some how graduate in 3 years. Brady Hart is 16 and will be on Texas am roster next year at 17 like the Bama wr. He gonna be in the NFL before 20?? Crazy

Kids can take dual enrollment classes in almost every state. What that means is the class gets HS credit and college credit.

You would be amazed at the number of kids who get an AA degree at the same time they get a HS diploma. They are 18, maybe even 17, when they graduate from HS and have enough college credits to be classified as a junior.

This is not a political board, so I will refrain from giving my opinion on it.

I was one of those and even took college classes as a junior during the summer. I had 80% of my general education classes out of the way by the time I went to Clemson. That was in the 2000’s. Graduated from Clemson in a little under 2 years.

To add to that I also did not have the grades or sat to get into Clemson as a freshman. So I applied as a transfer because I had 30+ from a small technical school. Clemson accepted me as a transfer instead of a freshman which is 10x easier to get in, at least it was then. I applied to Florida, wofford, Va tech and Clemson and got into all of them as a transfer with a gpa of 3.8 from that technical school.

When states move from a schedule that lets students take 8 classes instead of 6

Per year coupled with the ability to earn credits in 8th grade but don’t increase graduation requirements, you wind up with motivated students who easily earn everything needed for a diploma in 3 years.

Virtual, private, and charter schools offer even more opportunities to finish early.
