If Clemson never practices QB taking direct snap under center, then HOW are they going to "Clock it" when they are in 2 minute offense? Have you ever seen a QB clock it from the shotgun? You cannot tell me they have not had the QB under center if for no other reason than this.

Irregardless, the call was not a smart move by the coaching staff. I would really expect more from this amazing group of coaches that we have. There is so much that could go wrong in that decision and it almost did. If GT jumps on that fumble we are not even a top fifty team! Snap the ball. Run as much clock as you can and THROW IT AWAY! Or at least step out of the end zone, take a safety and go home a victor. I understand not taking a direct snap from center since it something we NEVER do but never,never risk a fumble in the end zone.Football101!

This coaching staff doesn’t do anything under center, remember DW4 his freshman year vs FSU, cost us the game. You would think after that disaster they would have fixed that some time over the next 7 years, guess not.

To spike the ball, the QB must take it directly from the center.

You can spike the ball from the shotgun if you do so immediately after the snap just like from under center.
