My Bride was a famous age group foot racer after 40 who did Marathons.
Due to arthritis (not running), had both knees replaced in Clemson at age 62.
She remains amazing. Here is after a Upstate trail race in the rain:

Real joints are better, but not an option for some.
Living with constant pain destroys normal life.
My advice is don't put off a replacement.
It will greatly improve your life.

Had my hip replaced 20 years ago now I’m getting swelling in my knee so I guess it’s getting that time again. Was supposed to have it done two years ago until my doc prescribed me some miracle ointment diclofenac sodium gel 3% and it helped tremendously but I guess it’s not forever so I guess this year will be the year to have it done.

Platelet-rich Fibron treatment to accelerate healing. I had nerve damage 2 1/2 years ago that wasn't healing. I got one shot and the nerve has healed and I just have to get my strength back in the leg.

Way to persevere! Keep fighting the fight. I have settled into a more sedentary existence the past couple years and trying to break out. If you don't move it you lose it!

Everybody just don't heal the same, some quicker than others but just never give up on the sun shining your way again
