J Ross Prediction

If our QB and Offense woes continue I'd bet that Ross leaves the program to get ready for the combine . When did you butt kicked physically when the QB can't hit you when you're wide open . You'd have nothing to gain by staying especially when your playing career could end with just the right hit...might as well get some money for all the hits .

I wouldn't just leave it at Ross. There is always the portal.

I think you will see more players quit on their team now rather than before the bowl season if their teams are struggling and they have pro potential. Especially players who have NIL money riding in.

Skip the bowl game probably. No NFL team is going to take him in the first round after the neck surgery based on his body of work so far. He still needs more reps to prove he is worth the pick given the medical history. XT can also improve his draft stock so he needs to continue to play hard.
The only draft eligible player on this team that can shut it down tomorrow and won’t improve their draft stock is Booth. He is a first rounder today. Maybe even a top ten.

He only got beat a couple of times and one time he got beat the safety (Turner) had inside leverage and he got fooled (I saw his jock strap at the 5 yard line) on the play action and abandoned his position. That one was on Turner, not Booth.

Honest question - do you, realisitically, see a bowl game this year? Where are the next 4 wins? I've bled orange since 1975, since watching my uncle Jimmy Williamson play. That said, my eyes are telling me 3-9 or 4-8. Regardless, Go Tigers!

A quick follow up. If the ball bounces CU's way a couple of times, I do see 6-6. But that is a big IF.

I came to Clemson in '69 and played with your older Uncle in High School. Jimmy would have had a NFL career if his knee had been injured with today's medical technology.

But unless this offense is able to flip a big switch, it’s reality. I’m not trying to pile on, but am setting realistic expectations based on what I have seen.

Booth had two touchdown passes thrown on him.

In where he ends up in the draft IMO. Regardless of when he leaves.

It just takes one team to really like Ross for him to end up in the first two rounds, but he hasn’t jumped off the tape this year and there are plenty of other safer picks at the WR spot coming out.
Given his medical history, clearly the move is to declare, but playing out the season should help. Most scouts will see that there are plenty of other reasons for his drop off in production this year.

Ross is clearly frustrated and I’ve seen him throw his hands up in disgust at DJ more than once. Ross appears to have no love loss for 5. Wondering if he saw the writing on the wall back in late spring if you remember that is when the transfer rumors started swirling. Additionally he has a natty ring and a natty performance for the ages, has sacrificed for the fusion surgery. He may have 5 figures in NIL if he’s lucky and sees someone who has not done squat close to being a millionaire showing up to the first game in a $5000 suit and $500 sneakers. This is business to these veterans not Cam Newton cosplay
