anyone besides me believing that someone with coot blood has paid for Clowney's 5 mil insurence policy. I don't have a clue what one of those type policies would cost. I wouldn't think that they are all that cheap for a defensive college player. I'm also thinking that this was a deal made with Clowney so he wouldn't sit out this coming season. It sure has a cootish smell to it. And we all know that with a cootish smell to it, it's plum rotten....

I think there are plenty of shady deals going on there but

the NCAA allows players to borrow the money for the policy premium from I think pretty much whoever and then pay it back from either the policy proceeds or their NFL signing bonus. I doubt there's anything to see in this case.

Thanks!!! I don't know how that works. I just don't see him coming up with that all at once on his own in school as a student. Well unless he has rich parents. What kind of money are one of those policies. I'm assuming there not cheap.

however, that has never stopped Spurrier before. He, consistently, had players interacting with agents when he was at Florida.

Here is how it works basically: the NCAA loaned Clowney 40,000 dollars to secure the 5 million dollar policy. Once in the NFL, Cliwney must pay back the principal plus some interest.

Exactly, I was just thinking the very same. They will find a way to make a buck off of what they have no bizzness in.

Which is a pretty safe bet if you ask me. The policy only pays out if the injury is career ending, like broken back/neck, can't ever play again type injuries. If he tears and acl for example that negatively impacts his play, he still must pay back since it wasn't career ending. I think the actuaries probably found gold with this thing.

Hey listen, all of this may be true, bu we would have been delighted to get him. The only relevant question is can we block him.? Right now, I don't see anyone on our offensive line that can come close to doing that. And based on last year's performance, it doesn't seem that our coaching staff has a clue as to how to do that.
In my humble, uninformed opinion, put a 250 pound fullback in the backfield with the express mission of
of hammering him evertime he tries to come around the corner. In S.Carolina's game against LSU, which they lost, Clowney spent much of the game flat on his back. I don't care how good you are, when you are getting smashed in the mouth on every play, you start to lose a little enthusiam. We should assign a stud to smash him on every play.

which he admitted yesterday was a very protected place. Maybe it's spurlid's Woodcreek pool house?
The cheapest protected place closest to billy brice, and fit for gamecock football players, would be Alvin Glenn Detention Center.

The NCAA hsa banking arrangement....

to offer athletes loans at “competitive” rates (reportedly 1.5% over prime) to help them pay ESDI premiums.

The loans are repayable when the player signs a professional contract or receives a payout following total disability.

For every million dollars in coverage, ESDI premiums can run $10,000-$12,000. So Clowney may be on the hook for upwards of $60,000 for his respective $5 million policy.
