We have. We all know it. No hitting today and pitching was the weak spot so we’d have to win 12-10 type games.

It is the 4th straight regional that we took an “L” in the 2nd game while hosting.
1. 2011 (UCONN)
2. 2016 (OK. ST)
3. 2017 (Vandy)
4. 2018 (Vandy)
Lost a bunch more in between 2010 and now to the Coots, in California in 2015, and Ole Miss in 2019. It is extremely frustrating to watch it happen for years hoping we would win in the 2nd game. Season is not over but we blew it tonight.

It is but we got screwed getting a #9 metric ranked team as our 2 seed. The last two, we got really tough 2 seeds as well but weren't this highly ranked.

Totally different scenarios. Nobody expected this team to be here. The trajectory is trending up. Those other seasons were disappointments. No possible way to view this season as a disappointment. Look at it more this way. We broke a streak of 3 seasons not even making the tournament

Oh this game was a heartbreaker and plenty of blame to go around for losing that one but we 100% want to host again next year. Backich and Ballenger have done wonders with this pitching staff just to get us to this point. Did anybody really believe we had the pitching depth to make a deep post season run this year? Honestly, with the exception of the Anmo s implosion, the pen did a remarkable job tonight. Our bats let us down.

I agree that the season could be considered a success regardless. However when you climb all the way and earn the #4 seed, it is disappointing to lose at home and not back it up. Ammons blew it! He has had a tremendous year, but to act like you are satisfied with being ousted in our own regional because we didn’t expect the result is concerning. Been watching for 20 years and they have underperformed since 2010! The OG fans know it deep down!

The best is yet to come from Bakich and the Tigers.
But while we are on the subject, it feels like ncaa baseball has had it out for Clemson with the Vandy pairings and now UT when we are a national 4 seed? This should’ve been a super or even CWS game.

If you are the #4 seed, you have to back it up and WIN! We haven’t had the best draw in the tournament in quite some time. However, when you lose over and over again it doesn’t help the argument.
