Is Clemson basically doing what you want for Basketball now?

if they make the NCAAT this season that will be three times in the last 5 years. One of those other 5 years they didn't make it, but they were one of the last one or two teams to be eliminated in making the NCAAT.
Most of the answers that were polled on this site indicated that make the NCAAT three to four times in a five year period? One of those NCAAT years make a run in either the ACCT or Regular season ACC Championship and/or a run in the NCAAT, which they did by making the Elite 8 last season.
So if some of you say basically that is what you wanted, but just tired of Coach Brownell being so mediocre over his first half of his tenure of a 15 year run, and it's time for a change.
If you could snap your fingers and that would happen where Coach decided just to move on, but would you be willing to go through a three to four year period of being very average at best if not worse if that happened?
I mean, look at the new coaches in the ACC the last two years minus what Pat Kelsey has done his 1st season. They have been average or worse at best.
Remember, Pat Kelsey has brought a clean overhaul in his roster because Louisville has a lot of $NIL for the transfer portal. Clemson does not have their level of $NIL budget for basketball.
Also look at Steve Forbes at Wake Forest. He is in his 5th season there and still trying to get to his first NCAAT. Wake Forest has a lot more history in Basketball than Clemson and more $NIL
Would you be willing to go through that type of transition?
Also would you not let Judge Keller's potential continuous trolling of the Football Program bother you in retaliating by putting down the Basketball team? I mean, it wouldn't be the new Coach's fault. He is trying to establish his new program. Look how everyone has supported Coach Poppie in his first year as the Ladies Coach.
Just think of these potential consequences or continue in the modest trend?

and has his team tied for 2nd in the conference with the team who has the soon to be longest tenured coach in the ACC? Yeah, why would we want to take that chance?
Maybe if we weren’t given every excuse under the sun as to why we should be happy with Brad but have to listen to why Dabo has no clue, then Tnet wouldn’t lash out at Brad. I have no problem with Brad, if he can continue to improve on the “recent” success he’s had then so be it. We would all be happy Tiger fans. But games like last night are why we are so frustrated, and then to hear the same tired excuses.
Saturday we could be playing for a tie for 1st in the ACC with the #2 team in the country. But instead we get the same old song and dance. Why must we always assume we can’t do better than Brad?

...Tommy Bowden. Good to mediocre seasons sprinkled in with the inexplicable losses that kept us from realizing our football potential. His teams were always "okay" but we were never going to get to the level we wanted under his leadership. I think Brad has done good things with our basketball program. But we can't get over the hump, nor gain national respect, due to losses like last night. So I say sure, let's roll the dice, and see what someone else can do.

Yep, this right here. It’s the Tommy Bowden argument all over again. Good man. Runs a clean program. Mediocre is good enough for some.

Neither have won any kind of championship at Clemson to date that I’m aware of.

People cant get past the first half of his tenure being average to below average. They think purnell left him a top tier program, when that was not the case at all. There is not a player on his year 2 roster that would start for our current team.
It's straight up Brownell Derangement Syndrome.
I will credit you. You have proven to be a true clemson basketball fan over the last couple years, unlike these losers who can't cheer on our student athletes because they cant get past our coach.

Coach Brownell. Some find joy in misery but I think most of it just a joke to rile up and get a reaction to a specific handful of posters on this board.
Whether you like it or not (now that Tony Bennett is gone and Leonard Hamilton is exiting) Brad Brownell is the patriarch of the ACC as funny as that sounds. He's the longest tenured coach in our conference and honestly his teams are as good as they've ever been. I think we ride that wave until it peters out. Because it will and then we can go back to being one of the worst this conference has to offer again and the naysayers on here will finally get their wish.
