In light of moves by SEC and ESPN the playoff must consist

of eight teams not twelve. Those playoff teams would be one team from each of the five Conferences, one from the Group of Five, and two at large. This would give each conference a seat at the table and help prevent teams from playing each other in playoff after just playing each other in conference. This is the best solution to help solve the debacle that has been created. This is absolutely necessary.

It will never fly because it does guarantee the SEC 5-6 playoff spots.

Very reason it must fly. Four conferences voting against one means it will fly. Playoff format requires votes by the conferences.

Yep, one of their jobs at ESPN is to get as many SEC teams in the playoff as possible. Another is to make sure their man wins the Heisman, and thirdly to make sure all their audience, which has greatly diminished, listens to their politics.

supposedly the AD's at the other 4 have agreed to band together against the SEC and do not plan to expand playoffs as ESPN & SEC want.

Big12 isn't even a power conference without Texas and Chokelahoma.

Keep it at 4.

Each power 4 champ gets in, seated by the committee.

Admit to the group of 6 they don't have a chance.

Even with an eight team playoff, there is no excuse to have more than two teams from any one conference!
