In all of my years on Tnet I have never criticized a coach

Nov 28, 2022, 11:25 AM

or a player....I always try to look at the bright side and I never lose sleep over the outcome of a game. I used to let a loss bother me for a few days but that's just a waste of energy to me.

I am not saying that it is wrong to criticize, I just choose not to even though I do see what other fans see.

That being said, I understand that DJ had perhaps his worst game since he has been here. I guess my frustration over Saturday's loss is that if we had continued to run the ball we would have won the game by multiple scores, even with DJ's poor play.

I'm not a football coach. I've never been a football coach...but we were running the ball down their throat for the most part. I find myself questioning why we would abandon the run game and put the ball in DJ's hands when 1) he clearly wasn't on his game, and 2) it wasn't necessary. That doesn't make sense to me.

I realize none of this is breaking news, but I had to get this out of my system.

My thoughts exactly and even heard it from Carolina fans. They were saying they could not stop the run. I understand they were stacking the box but we were still running for good yardage. Some good under center play action would have worked out great if we had someone that could get them the ball. I hate to criticize as well but obvious issues need to be fixed.

In this game, we failed the Four Way Test- offense, defense, special teams, and coaching. They all had a failure of execution on Saturday. One exception is our kicker, BT Potter is dependable and exemplary. If we could have gotten that last drive within 55 yards, he could have made a difference.

we did not learn any lessons in our ND loss, go with what is working until they stop it.

It's been a long time since I've been this frustrated watching Clemson football. It is obvious that the offense is broken for whatever reason... DJ, Streeter, playcalling, poor WR play, etc. It's a long list. I feel the run worked early but later in the game they stacked the box seeing DJ could not make a simple completion. It was a weird game and strange outcome.
