Then I guess every team back doors into their conference championship games at multiple points during the season. We won our way in same as all the other conference champions.

Every game during the season is t the same as the last ones when things are close.
We didn't do enough to get in the last week without help. Ergo, we backed in.
I'm happy that we're in, but please be honest about how. Better yet, just give it up.

LSU is not. Texas A&M is not. Missouri is not. Clemson met the requirements and totally deserves to be in; none of those SEC teams, bolstered by media-hype driven polls all year, met the requirements or deserve to be in. Clemson earned their way in, walked right through the front door, and slammed it in their faces. Some small minded haters can't stand that.

It's true that it took an inexplicable loss by Miami for Clemson to get to the ACCCG. But to be fair, that's the way it works for everyone. UGA needed upset wins by Florida over Ole Miss and a stunner of an upset of Bama by Oklahoma to get to Atlanta.

We were in 2nd place in the ACC standings already, ahead of Miami, prior to their loss at Syracuse. They had to make up the ground on us, not vice versa. They failed. We maintained our #2 spot.

Agreed. You plays for the conference title gets there by the rules. Conference record is what determines who gets into the ACC title game. There is no back into that....
What the backed into the title people slip up on is the fact that if Syracuse played Miami and beat them two weeks earlier no one would be saying that at all.
It all our fans the have Carolina dereangement syndrome that gets this mental infection.

Yep backed into it is the wrong term. We both played the same number of conference games. Miami lost 2 we lost one. So if they play Cuse earlier are we still backing in?
Really a dumb term for any team in the situation.
