and it had absolutely nothing to do with expanding the ACC"s television or geographic footprint because the people in Boston don't give a rats a$$ about BC or the ACC. They care about the Patriots, the Red Sox, the Celtics, and the Bruins.
BC was added because, at the time, John Swofford's son worked for the BC athletic department before he moved-on to Jefferson Pilot/Raycom, the owner of whom was one of Swofford's pals from UNCheat.
For the sake of not arguing, lets say that is correct, and BC was added because the commissioner's son worked at BC then went on to work for Raycom and Swofford knew the owner of Raycom from their time together at UNC, and it had nothing to do with the Boston TV market because people in that town like the Patriots and the Red Sox and the Celtics and the Bruins and are not ACC fans. That is an even worse reason for them to be here.
(1) Former Big East schools in the Northeast that Clemson has little in common with (athletically) (2) Syracuse doesn't field a varsity baseball team (3) Pittsburgh and Boston are pro (not college) sports towns; not sure about Syracuse
