If Shipley and Mafah Become The Nucleus of The Offense

and DJ or Cade become the supporting cast, I believe with the Top or second best D in the nation Clemson can get to the CFP. In CFP could a defense like Clemson has, presuming the secondary matures, be one that holds a team like Bammmer to 16 or O310 to Zippo?

informed fan, the key to a really successful offense it being able to successfully run OR pass in equal measures. That way, the defense don't got a clue what you are going to hit them with next.
The "Kelly Bryant Year" proved that a great running attack CAN take you a long way. But, it also proved that to go ALL the way, you need to be able to pass if your opponent shuts down the run.
Hopefully our Offensive line AND skill positions are good enough this year so that we EXCEL at both the run game and passing game. Because if we do, all the naysayers that talk about Clemson's dominant run being over in the ACC and beyond will have to eat large forkfuls of Crow at the end of the season!

Way too early to think our offense will be heavy on the run or that our defense will be dominant. The key to the season is will the offensive be healthy and able to block? As far as the defense goes, will we really know how good we are until we find out whether any of our opponents have improved? After the NC State game, we will have some of the answers and as Dabo always says, 1 game at a time.

Being able to consistently throw and catch will be the key to our offense. A good running game is great however, we’ll need to be able to pass to keep the defenses back (no 10 or 12 man fronts to stop the run and daring us to throw because the D’s knew we couldn’t).

average QB/OL/WR play. I think we can win with ave QB in the ACCCG.
To win in the Playoffs, we'll need above ave to superior QB play.
If DJ can do that, then he deserves the Heisman. I just don't know, but we'll find out soon!
