it will all be on Dabo. All of it. They have been disgustingly bad at USuC for years, but they’ve brought in players to improve their roster through the portal and NIL. Clemson won’t sniff it. It’s a hard no for Dabo.
To me, it’s BS that the coots are even in our league. If Dabo would adapt just a little, this game would be a no doubter. But he won’t, and we could possibly lose 2 in a row at home to them.
All on Dabo. He hired these mid coaches, and he refuses to bring in help from the portal. These are his choices. The only one not suffering over his choices is Dabo himself. He will get his 10s of millions whether we lose to the dayum coots or not.
It’s been a looooonh time since I’ve had this bad feeling in my gut over the chicken game. But it’s there.
Will the man be so stubburn that he will allow a loser program like them keep his team out of the playoffs again?
If it happens, it’s all on him. He chose to be different and he chose to run with a depleted roster.

Ok…so what say you if SC doesn’t win? Will all of what you said about Dabo and this team still be true?

I don’t think you understood what I was trying to say. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings. I usually enjoy your posting.
But you know I’m right. Those losers have ZERO business breathing the same air Clemson breathes. Dabo has allowed his program to drop off. It was a decision nothing more.
Is it ok with you if I hold a little resentment towards his, for lack of a better term, ways….
He’s bullish….

Of course. I think you just have to decide as a fan of Clemson football, do you want to win National Championships again, or do you just want to say there is a great culture here and they are decent.
That game tomorrow, if they lose, will just highlight the problem. Maybe some of the folks on here that get so mad at criticism will jerk their heads out of the sand.

Nothing against you personally. Just kind of tired of all the doom and gloom and complaining on the board in general. Very cootish behavior and I’d like to think our fan base is a little better than that, especially the day before one of our more meaningful games in a while.

Well negativity is a result of bad decisions. This is a place of discussion. I missed the sign that says “only sunshine pumping allowed”.
Nothing against you, but pointing out the obvious doesn’t make someone a coot. I hope we are all happy this time tomorrow.

It’s the volume and quantity of it that is getting tiresome and I would not put Dabo in the “loser” category by any stretch. Fine with the constructive criticism but it is a fan board as well.

“If you are a loser, just say so. Losers are ok with losing. Do you want to feel the euphoria of winning it all again?”
Your quote implies Dabo is the primary cause of this attitude which went to my comment. I realize you probably didn’t mean it that way but it kind of sounded like it.

Actually l, if the fans were all about positivity and tbat 8-4 was OK, then we eould be coots! The refusal to accept our drop in talent is what makes CLEMSON what it is. BEST IS THE STANDARD! Allowing our in state rival close the talent gap to this close margin is unacceptable and not a high standard. I believe tbe number of fans that feel this way would be much higher than people think.

All fans that I talk to feel this way. Tigernet is just a pulse game. There are awesome people here with great takes. And there are people here that just say whatever will get them the most points. Tigerthing59 comes to mind. I don’t think I’ve read anything of note from him. Just makes faces and drools on his screen.

Well, considering Clemson only had one of those before Dabo (and it had been almost THIRTY years, I’ll take the program he has built verses “another national title” because without him, maybe Clemson could win one again before the century was over (or if we even have a country by then). However, with Dabo being here I know Clemson has a much better chance at winning one because he has twice as many national titles as Clemson does without him.
It truly amazes me how front runnerish some fans appear to be. If you noticed that stat David Hood included in his game prediction earlier today, a Clemson win tomorrow mean 20 “10 win” seasons in school history. That will be Dabo’s 13th one since 2011. Clemson had 7 total in the 100+ years before him. I don’t think some realize how impossibly mediocre to slightly above average Clemson football was before 2012 (with the exception of a handful of seasons in the 1940s and 1980s). It will go back to a long stretch of irrelevancy as soon as the fair weathers run Dabo off.

Without dabo where would this program be? He doesn’t want selfish players he wants good kids and like he said he cares about the 30 year old version of them so he runs this program based on what’s best for the 30 year old version on the kids

Dabo was a legend before the rules changed. Unfortunately, a few years ago may as well be a lifetime. He would have never won like he did if the portal and NIL was going on then.

I agree. People talk about the last 5 “bad years” yet tomorrow could be our 50th win over that span. I get that we are in a playoff drought, and a lot can be considered self-inflicted, but many programs would love to have our consistency and 1 of only 2 active head coaches who have won a National Championship.
I’m just ready to focus on tomorrow and watching our guys come out and play a great game. I do think we see a different Dabo moving forward in a number of areas and I’m excited about that as well.

That’s easy. It would be NC State basketball circa 1991-2023. Or Tennessee football for the last 25 years. A program living off glories from thirty years prior. Wait a second . . . That would just make it Clemson again (before Dabo became coach). Can you say hello 1990s Clemson football again? Oh boy. Sign me up!

Dabo felt he could still recruit and win at a high level the same prior to nil and portal. With all the decommits he has had in the 2025 class I honestly believe it hit him in the face that that is no longer possible. I don’t believe he will go as crazy as many but he will begin to use upfront nil for high school recruiting and the portal. I was willing to give him the space to try it his way and was hoping it would work myself. We find ourself as an underdog to this SC team as they have played the game. This does not mean we can’t beat them tomorrow but for the first time since Spurrier was at SC I believe they have the best team. They have been getting instate recruits we wanted because they have given them money. Dont be so hard on the Captain as he knows as the rest of us it did not have to be this way. Dabo has made choices that has put us in the hole a th this time. He has decided to change. He is a hall of fame coach but nil and the portal has sicken the game for all of us. $12.5 million paying to play for a QB. Done of us expected this. Even if we lose tomorrow which I hope not give Dabo time as he has reversed his beliefs on these issues.

I think this is a good take. We've had some other contributors as well. Missing on a 5* QB hurt. Not getting a '24 QB recruit and losing our '25 recruit, some key transfers, some gaps in our HS recruiting, missing on the OL guys we did go after in the portal that didn't pan out, some poor coaching staff decisions, etc.
One could argue had all of those panned out differently, perhaps the Dabo way would still be viable but the ongoing changes around NIL and Portal just make it impossible to stand still any longer.
I agree with previous comments about him being stubborn. I've made the same comment myself. Dabo is not a fence sitter. He picks a side and sticks to it which is something I generally like about him. Maybe it held us back a bit the last few years but I do think he is catching up with today's reality and is ready to react to it moving forward.
And in the end, we will be better off as a program and he will continue to be successful as our coach.

I don’t think anyone is calling for Dabo to go. I just think in reality, not Tigernet, people understand he is not realistic in thinking he can have success without adapting to the modern game.
I guarantee you, if people weren’t scared to get a TD, they would be more honest. I think that would make tigernet much more interesting. No one likes an echo chamber. Reminds me of liberal media and their shared narratives.

Dear keyboard warrior. You’re entitled to your opinion just as I am. How do you think you would fare with your abilities and limitations in leading a major college program in an easy time much less the complicated times we have now. It gets tiresome seeing folks like you snipe at a guy who is way more qualified than you to do what he’s doing. Supply and demand rules in the salaries world so don’t give me the “oh, he makes so much money that he must win them all or at least do exactly what I’d do in hindsight”. Sheesh, your expectations are 1st world when your ability and responsibility is third world. It would be great to win a natty every single year and we’d all be all-n for that. If I paid you Dabo’s salary, would you guarantee me a natty each year?

year, and there is a fact about our rivalry game I learned a long time ago: we are NOT, repeat NOT, going to win them all despite all of our wildest hopes and prayers.
When the Chickens have won in the past, it wasn't the end of the world. Their hefty losses to us in the lopsided rivalry hasn't been the end of the world for them either.
And Captain, you can point fingers all you want, but I doubt many Clemson fans will be ready to throw Dabo under the bus, if the game doesn't go our way. You can bet our BOT won't either.
