Nil/Portal but I am throwing in the towel. Unless Dabo at least participates in a minimum way our talent level is going to continue falling. Miami and Louisville would not be in their position this year without it. We will not make it to the ACC championship game nor the playoffs because of not using it. Unfortunately college sports will never go back to the good ole days. Take a look at the teams that are winning and the ones that are participating in it in a big way and they are the same. Would Louisville ever have beaten us even though we only brought our C game without the 7 year played for 3 teams QB. Don’t think so. It will never go back so we have to commit to the new way or just become average. Dabo, I know you and I don’t like change when we think it is wrong but we have to adapt or become the dinosaur.

Just to say I have been a tiger fan for 67 years. I attend every home game at my age of 77. I have seen all 3 of our national championships IN Person. I have given thousands to Iptay over the years. I was a fan when Harvey White was our QB. Jim Phillips as announcer was not on the scene. There were no upper decks or west end zone. As a student it cost me .$50 for a general admission ticket to usually sit in the north stands on the 4O yard line. Also, I’m all for booing and making as much noise as possible as we are known for that but Never Never throw anything on the field and look like all those other Yahoos from Columbia.

NIL and the Portal are 2 totally separate entities and are not a package deal.

Do you really think Clemson is not using NIL money to attract players or keep them? So you think all of our players are here out of the goodness of their hearts?

To have a tool that other winning programs are using very effectively to build depth and bring in talent… And refusing to use it… It’s just asinine

Actually, we are Colorado in the most important way.

Our reviews are identical right now.
The difference is heading in opposite directions.
Two years ago we were 10-2 and a blown opportunity against SC from a 4 team playoff. Colorado was 1-11.
Worse, we're #17 in NIL. Colorado is #46.

A contest in entertainment that you toss your values out the window?
I guess everyone has a price.

If you participate within the rules, and utilize the resources available to you and everyone else, I'm not sure how that compromises your values.
Stubbornly holding on to the past, as if nothing has changed, and refusing to adapt to the new reality of what college football has evolved to, is a value I would like to toss.

Louisville is not a more talented team than Clemson on paper. They don't have more future NFL players on that roster than Clemson does. That running back that ran for 150 yards on us was a true freshman and the #44 RB in America according to 247 Sports composite ranking. They were (and are) better coached, they have explosive players, they had a better scheme, they wanted it more, and it showed. Who knows... Maybe if you play that game 10 times Clemson wins a few of them, but Clemson looked like a turtle on it's back for about 80% of the game and didn't even hardly try to make any in-game changes to fix the problems.

I can agree that we did not seem ready for the game and by the time it hit us in the face that this is a good team it was too late. This was one of the worst coached games in Dabo’s career.

Glad people are coming around. I have no idea how 4 years of evidence didn’t move people to this opinion sooner.
Dabo doing what he’s supposed to do is the best timeline IMO. But I really sort of feel like he needs to make up his mind now because you don’t have even a month to sit and decide if you want to participate like literally everyone else.
My fear at this point is that maybe Dabo has demonized all this so much and so for so long that even if he wanted to, Clemson isn’t cool anymore because of it.

I have gotten blasted by members of the Dabo cult to the point that done if them stalk almost every one if my posts to TD them. I don't care about those TDs. I just laugh at the haters.
Now that the general consensus has shifted to what a few others and I have been observing and saying, the sunshine pumpers have mostly gotten quiet. The rest are hanging in to the past and "Dabo will fix it". No sign of that. He looked and sounded confused and beaten starting with the halftime interview Saturday night.
I'm not enjoying his downfall. I have repeatedly said that I wish he'd adapt. If he can't or won't, he needs to retire and stop milking the University for a salary that's far higher then the ROI.

I have been a sunshine pumper but I can’t take that stance anymore. The Louisville game convinced me that we will not be able to compete for ACC titles without using upfront nil and the transfer portal. Kids of Dabo’s day don’t exist but for a few. The new kids on the block are only going to play for the money. Unwillingness to pay kids upfront will no longer get them to Clemson just to play for a great Christian man like Dabo. We must adapt if we are going to succeed.

The only issue is, that is the media's narrative....

Dabo has at least looked into the portal for players since last year. Heck we even offered a couple or three OL last year. There were also reports of him going to Rumph an asking Rumph if he felt they needed to go to the portal and get a DE, and Rumph said he felt they were fine. I dont think that Clemson has gone hard after guys in the portal, but I also dont think they have completely ignored it the way ESPN and the like are portraying it.

If we win out our record will sit at 10-2 which will be one of the better records in College football. Most teams in all conferences do not win 10 games. Shucks. Most Folks on this Board expect Dabo and Clemson to go undefeated every year. It an't gonna happen with or without players from the Portal. Get to use to it. Our record over the past 10 years is been pretty good. Look around, lots of schools are not winning 8 games a year. We have a good team (not a great team) and it is what it is. Go Tigers
