after they get a big offer from some college? They’ll quit half way thru their high school senior season or skip it altogether for fear of injury.

We’re about to see selfishness on a grand scale.

Heck no.

who is the bigger goober.

you for being selfish and taking the million

or me for being so desperate for my team to win a sporting contest that i would give a kid a million dollars.

It's not about the school or the kid. It's about screwing over others.***

Will that become standard practice for our young athletes?

If so then next man up. That situation would apply to .05% or less athletes so it wouldn’t happen often.

I don’t understand how some on the board get so bent about players now having the leverage in college football. Universities have been making millions for decades off the these athletes.

Yes - if you do something with only your own needs in mind - that's selfish.

But I wouldn't blame a kid for doing it.

I'll be curious to see how interested people are to watch kids that their school has hired to play for them...

Technically when they accept the money they are a professional. That kinda removes excuses for losing. Just like we would get fired if we failed to do our jobs.

Good point. Stop feeding the beast and it will starve to death.

Fans have the power, but getting them unified to do anything would be impossible!

That’s been happening for years. I know some local kids who basically quit on their teams and that was before NIL.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'll guarantee you that will happen!***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

I know I have heard that discussed.

In effect, it is happening already with kids reclassifying and heading to college after their junior year in HS. The WR at Bama is the most notable example, but there are others.
