so that they don't get swept away in the emotion of the season. Some people get too high and too low.

In July, I said...

So what I believe will happen is...
We lose to Georgia, but we don't look as outmatched as most people expect. After losing to UGA, I see us winning 9 of the remaining 11 games. I think we beat Florida State UNLESS Cade has a nightmare game. I expect us to lose two games in frustrating fashion.

The bare minimum it would take for me to say our program is in a good place...
We win 10 games, including beating the coots. No losses by more than 10 points to anyone after UGA.

What would convince me our program is lost...
Defense gives up 5 yards per rush or more. Offense makes no obvious progress from last year. 4 or more losses. Defense regresses from last year. We get blown out by any ACC school.

At the time people seemed to think that was pretty fair. Now I have the feeling many would be upset if forced to keep these standards. We can still win 10 games, but I don't believe we will. I see us losing one more. I said this in July as well.

The biggest surprise to me is how our offense has looked most of the time against inferior talent. I didn't think we were going to do that well. Especially Cade. He has looked very good this year. I did not see that coming. I expected the OL to be better and I was worried about the Defensive coaching.

If we win out in the regular season, even though Clemson has already checked a box for "lost program" status according to my earlier post, I will probably start believing maybe we are ok again. Assuming we don't get 2002 Texas Tech'd or 1997 Syracused in a bowl game.
