Wonder why the delay. I’d like to see him at Spring practice. He could be another QB coach on the practice field.

I heard he will be enrolling in June. He has been in the system and will only have to adjust to change in the verbiage. Plus he has 2 degrees from NW which is nothing to shake a stick at, so his input/knowledge will be a plus whenever he gets here.

He must be grooming for a coaching position. Would make sense with 6 years invested and no chance at the pros.

He knows his role with us and probably has school obligations still at Northwestern. He is not an NFL guy and is doing what is best for his future by getting a great education.

Yeah the article said that Hunter Johnson won't enroll in the Spring (and therefore won't be participating in Spring practice).
Not ideal for us, but then again Hunter Johnson does not have serious playing aspirations for us.
Instead, he's preparing for 'life after (playing) football.'
So far as providing QB depth, that's good for us.
So far as getting chemistry with the WRs and the Centers, not so good. He'll be less ready for live action (if it comes to that) by foregoing Spring practice.
But clearly the compromise by both Clemson and Hunter Johnson is something to which both parties agree.

asked him if he would play this year, use final year of eligibility and he agreed. He is effectively, on field GA, and emergency backup QB all in one. This is an ideal situation for both.

He's already earned two degrees and doesn't need the credits. Did you read that his original intent was NOT to attend school but to apply for a GA position? Given his earned grad credits, he might not need an entire year to complete the MBA.
