If you want to face the truth listen up: Our coaching with both OC and DC have dropped off from Morris and Venables who are the ones not Dabo got us to the top. Our talent level has dropped off as well. Could you imagine what XT would have done to Sellers? Less coaching and less talent adds up to where we are. Cade continues although improved to make huge game losing mistakes at the worst time. You can put the blame wherever you like. In my opinion even though I love Dabo and am glad he is our coach he has made a number of poor choices that has got us here.

Maybe not, but he showed us the way with an innovative offense and he brought up the coaches who executed on it. He still deserves a lot of credit. And he also gets credit for closing the deal on DW. He recruited him and signed him as a sophomore and was able to hold on to him.

but he didn’t take us to the top. In fact, we have averaged almost 2 wins more per season since he left, and that includes the years described as our “decline”. Saying he got us to the top is revisionist history.

Like I said, his contributions were felt after he left. You don't get DW you don't get that second NC.

which was the claim. I like him a lot, and he did great getting DW, but he struggled in big games too, and people tend to forget that.

I think you will find yourself in the minority when it comes to the way people feel about Chad's contributions. I think Dabo would tell you the same.
Where would we have been if we didn't have his offense to run? I mean Clemson's offense...

I don’t think you read my post, or the OPs.
Claim: Chad took us to the top. Fact: Chad did not take us to the top.
I agree with almost everything you have said, but the OP made up a fact. We can disagree with making up facts being ok I guess.

What is your definition of the top if you want to play with words? He laid the foundation for our offense and signed up Watson to run it who won a natty. No he was not in the booth that night but Elliott and Scott trained under him and called his plays. Without that offensive scheme we could have never beat Bama that night. Also, that scheme helped us recruit Higgins and Ross.

Man Morris offense better than this crap we running now! Couldn't get a first down in crunch time to save its life. Its obvious for a while now it's more explosive when they do 2 minute drill and they still won't go all out . Geez!

Elliott and Scott worked under Morris and used his scheme he brought to Clemson from Tulsa. Before that we wondering in the dark like today. He could draw up a play on a napkin in a moment to beat your defense. If you don’t know that you only come on board recently.

All you want to argue what top means. It can mean many things to different people. Instead of only laying in the weeds to criticize someone why don’t you add some value to the board?

Morris would also abandon what was working in the name of staying balanced. Yall give him waaaay more credit than deserved. Venables and Jeff Scott were felt the most when it comes to coaches leaving.

springs from the overwhelming emotion of losing to South Carolina. He was Jeff Scott's WR coach when Jeff was playing and a huge addition to Bowden's team but he wasn't the boss.
We're arguing with emotional men who are behaving like women. Chad ran what Dabo wanted him to run. They knocked heads and Chad interview with many schools then took the first offer. Where is he now and what is he doing?

Things were bad, real bad until he showed up. He implemented the spread and quick play on steroids and instant turnaround. Personality conflict with Dabo and he left. Not successful as an HC but he is a great OC.
Clemson overall, needs to play much faster than they do now, no matter the Offense Scheme

Well, he got us to the top of the ACC in his first year after a losing season the year before. And was there to end the coot 5-peat, though BV had the bigger part in that. But he too was stubborn and it was time for him to go when he left. Tony and Jeff continued his fast offense with that QB Chad brought in. Only then did we get to the actual top.

you train your help. Jeff and Tony worked together doing what Dabo wanted and we rocked Alabama's best team 44-16 and could have dropped 70 on them.

I give Dabo credit for bringing them in. Morris was a real wild card that paid off. BV was a top coordinator and it was Dabo's urgency to move quickly to scoop him up that got him to Clemson. To your point, both moves got us to the success we have enjoyed.
Unfortunately, lightning did not strike twice...

Tiger fans need to put things in a more accurate perspective. We had back to back first round QBs. We had a string of first round and high round defensive linemen. The two main reasons for an amazing run. That just doesn’t happen consistently. How many teams have played in four NCs in five years? We have. Alabama. That’s it. Arm chair hall of fame coaches don’t know more than Dabo. I would love to stay on the streak we had. That’s not realistic. I’m sticking with Dabo and whatever decisions he makes

That said, completely agree with your other points haha.
