I hope I am wrong

I feel like with the negative recruiting, we are going to have 7-5 type seasons going forward. I hate these new rules but that is the game now. We should be playing the same game. Feels like we handicap our recruiting and other teams use our hard work trying to get the kids we want. No disrespect to the class but they know what’s going on. Fire away. I’m a Clemson alumni.

I don't see that, but I do think it will be difficult to get back a NC caliber team.

There is definitely a fall-off in recruiting. In year’s past we would secure recruits that rated elite and were in the top 5 of their positional group (especially on defense). I’m hopeful that we will be successful in grabbing a few key players in the portal (yes, finally). Especially a DE and LB. I don’t see a 7-5 forecast, and falling short of being a champion contender could still mean 11-win seasons.

In years past we didn’t have commits stolen out from under us because of money. Had it held together this would have been another Top 15 class.
Having said that, Dabo has now experienced the way the game is going to be played going forward. He can’t ignore it anymore because it is no longer speculation, it is fact.
I’m hopeful this is the wake-up call he answers, rather than hitting the snooze button.

You bring back the entire offense next year except for Mafah, Briningstool, and parks I believe. If you can hit on one of these 2 running backs on this class the offense will be pretty good next year. Especially is you ### Brown in the mix. Defense we will need to find a defensive end and linebacker more than likely from the portal. If you find 2 solid players for those positions we are a 10 win team next year. If not it will probably be another 9-3 season. The year after that will be completely different. Will have to replace a lot more.

Agree. As long as we don't lose anyone in portal, in good shape. Should be solid with ACC schedule but need to reconsider OOC schedule like rest of teams. No advantage playing high ranked OOC teams since just need wins. ACC is easiest pathway to CFP.

Assuming we can keep our current roster (at least the key players) we will have a good team next year. It's the year after that's the problem as we likely lose Cade, PWoo, and Parker among others. Of course, Dabo can decide to hit the portal to fill the gaps which would negate the gaps assuming we decide to pony up the $ required to get high level players.
Seems Dabo is banking on the plan for schools to pay players directly with limits on the total amount of compensation a school can pay and also limit the Pay for Play aspect of NIL. If this gets passed, the question becomes how he fills in the gaps until the roster can be rebuilt.

That part of the House case settlement isn't going to hold up to the legal challenges it's already getting.
It violates at least 2 other federal court decisions, the Alston SCOTUS 9-0 decision and the injunction. In the Tennessee/vs Virginia vs NCAA case.
The injunction in the Tennessee/Virginia case prohibits the NCAA from interfering in or regulating private NIL in any way. It was decided before the House case, sinit takes precedence in timing and being a judicial decision and not a settlement.

Years ago, when I had a day job, I would have concerns about potential problems and how I would make it better for my crew. I see that you are concerned about Clemson FB potential problems. Take my advice, this is out of your control and in the hands of a very capable man that makes 11 million dollars a year. Relax.

You're not wrong. Once Dabo decided to keep it simple and easy for himself in the face of a seismic change to the college football landscape, the program plateaued at a level lower than it should be. This class is just more evidence of that.
