I always learned the "pine is a wonderful teacher"

Sep 21, 2021, 10:33 AM

especially for stars. Wonder whatever happened to that. Myself as a central player - I got sat a few times when I got the big head or was screwing up the game plan for everyone or just underperforming - and it helped me get my act back together and get back (on the court) and be better.

"Wonder whatever happened to that".

I suspect the transfer portal, social media, etc... has something to do with it. But, sometimes the best lessons in life are the ones you learn the hard way. Good point.

My Father always stated "a bought lesson is the best lesson."

2 questions about your situation:

Sep 21, 2021, 12:55 PM

1. Did your coach come out on tv and say you needed to grow up?

2. Was there a transfer portal when you played?

1) No TV back then (basically). Or the coach never appeared as there was no one to interview him other than a newspaper.

2) Transfer "portal" has always been there. I wanted to transfer after soph year, looked in to it, even made a visit. But didn't carry it out. I had friends filling my ear that I could be in a better place that would use my talents, so I seriously looked into it. They weren't telling me the real truth anyway.

Why were you getting a big head in the first place

Sep 21, 2021, 1:03 PM

Didn't you have parents and coaches or message board posters telling you to remain humble, don't screw up the game plan or underperform. You shouldn't have made those mistakes in the first place.

What was wrong with you?
