Wow at those top 6 or 8. And truthfully I can’t believe we spend that much at Clemson. Times have changed and I’d say rather than spend more we need to look at how poor our ROI is. Kinda like public schools, more $ isn’t always the answer.

Don't tell me we can't afford to make the Sweet 16. Can't wait to hear the Lunatic Fringe Brown-L Boys Twist this one.

The new buzz phrase to justify Brad Brownell is “geographically challenged”. Of course that ignores that Clemson is only 2 hours from one of the most basketball talent rich markets in the country- Atlanta. But sure, we’re geographically challenged.

Penn St spends 7 million and they are more geo challenged than we are.
As for geography, remember it costs more in the northeast than other places. So the numbers really have to take that and how yhe is spent. Most of the teams at the top developed successful programs first. The money came afterwards.
Thanks for the numbers.

Are we not spending like $40mil right now on facilities and new offices for Basketball right now? Or did I misunderstand a recent thread? If we are, can we avg that over the next 5-10yrs, that would throw us way up the list.

My question for everyone who says we don't spend enough on basketball. How much do you want Clemson to spend? Put a specific number on it. If you look at number 1 UCONN... they don't have anything but basketball that is why they spend so much on it. With 3 million more Clemson is number 6 on the list. Is 3 million keeping Clemson from being competitive? My point is.. money is not the issue. 4 of the 16 made it to the Sweet 16 spending less than Clemson.. what are they doing different? Talent? Coaching?.. you tell me.

Clemson surpasses on money spent on basketball.
Princeton last made the NCAAT in 2017 and 2011 before that and last sweet 16 was 1967.
This is Florida Atlantic's 2nd NCAAT appearance ever and only sweet 16.
Kansas State has made the NCAAT 9 times since 2010 and San Diego 10 since 2010 and both have made 3 Sweet 16s with only Kansas State making it beyond that to the Elite 8. Those 2 spend about the same as Clemson and would be your only argument for more success with similar money which is a small sample.

West Virginia, Iowa State, Southern Cal, etc. who all spend within $1 Million of us and regularly make the NCAA Tourney more than Brown-L.

The disparity in those numbers can't help but make me wonder if they are really not comparing apples to apples. Not sure how comparable those figures really are.

And to see how much is being spent and where we are falling short, and where we are not with regard to finances and support and pet bands… But the bottom line is, after 13 years… Brownell is a loser

Funny how Princeton basketball spends $1,000,000 less than what Brownell takes home by himself.
FYI, Clemson endowment sits at $1.007 Billion while Princeton is sitting on a huge $37.7 Billion pile.

Speaks volumes for sure.
I actually thought about doing the 74 or so programs that have a better avg NET than us over the last 13 years. That's a lot of financial info to dig out though, and regardless I'd venture to guess we spend more money than over half of them.
As a side note, you know these facts hurt the Brownell Bros., a lot! COxford and Judge are MIA. All their bravado, smashed to pieces. Reality bites, but I can't think of a better guy and gal to feel the wrath of karma.
