For the 4th time in the last weeks drove my Bride over to the brand new health care Prisma site in Greenville.
This is new and already expanding -> very nice. I suspect it will need endless patients to pay the bills.

It is a pleasant hour drive on 123 through Clemson where there is one of the few decent Taco Bells to hit on the return.

I sit in the lobby with my lap top watching 'Dave's World' which never gets old for me.

90% of folks coming and going are elderly. Most are fat.
Some arrive with a friend or relative. Some struggle in alone with a walker.


It is depressing.

I know I'm getting older but for now I'm still independent. The one thing that sends me over the edge with my Medicare Supplement, are the relentless calls about home nurse visits. I repeatedly told them no, I can go to the Doctor on my own and if things change, I would let them know. Finally, I unloaded on a caller and the calls have backed off.

I observe the same thing when I go to the doctor for my check-ups. Most are my age or older, and the majority are overweight, even the younger generations that wander in could afford to lose a few lbs.

When I go to bed, I'm glad I made it through another day.

Health care in this country is good in so many ways but it’s also screwed up in other ways
