The path is not the same for different teams in different conferences.
This is a good thing going to 12 teams.
Georgia is now a virtual lock to make it each year. I would also think Clemson stands a decent shot at making it most years.
We could be seeing MANY GEORGIA AND CLEMSON GAMES COMING UP AND THAT IS A GREAT THING!!!!

Championship, my biggest beef is who wants to go to 3 games? Guessing we'd get a bye every year. And the good news is Georgia Football team would be back by New Years to watch the rest of the playoffs together. But, in the odd chance someone plays in 3 games, what fans want to go to 3 games? I'd likely just wait and go to the Championship game. Because that first game would be like Georgia playing South Carolina at home. Oh, wait . . .

Georgia would’ve won it all. Nothing that happened on the field prior to the playoff would lead me to believe otherwise. A four team playoff is clearly a sham.

If you were honest. You would know that teams 6-12 would all get blown out extremely bad by any of the 1-5 teams every single year.

Not really. Just waters down the season and post season, for the sake of teams who really don't belong. With a side of "for the sake of the little men".
While we are doing everything for everyone - make every conference's money from contracts dead even.

12 teams is laughable. All it assures is that the teams that did not earn there way to the playoffs, now have a free ticket. They want "their" teams present such as UGA, Michigan, all other SEC teams, ND, Oregon, and Wisconsin. It won't be worth watching because now we have the "everybody gets a trophy" mentality.

and only gone to playoffs 1 time. By these numbers I would tell you Clemson using past performance to project the future would ALWAYS go and UGA would SOMETIMES go.

This is nothing more than another boost of $ for the $EC/B1G and gives those 2 conferences more of a shot to take down teams not in those main 2 markets. Then a little bone for a Group of 5.
There has never been 8 competitive teams but we "need" 12. Ok.

To be honest Georgia fans want to experience the Playoffs more often and putting 12 teams in the Playoffs under the new format will help them. We have been spoiled as we are in the playoffs every year.
Of course, what you do once you get in the playoffs is another question.

That is pretty much accepted. When it comes to understanding college athletics, I have few equals.
From a mental and physical standpoint I enjoy being able to chat with you guys. Give and take. And, occasionally, educate.
I just have a bigger motor than most people, but I never brag or use it for personal gain.

Come back in 2 years and let’s see how many fans continue to pay a lot of money for tickets and travel for 2 or 3 playoff games . It’s hard enough paying for one a year at the end of the season .

I’m not a fan of Byes for anyone! Byes are for the NFL. The things that have made College Football unique are rapidly going away. Soon, the “Masses” will be calling for 32 and then 64 teams. With 12 teams, the regular season will lose some of its importance. As the number of teams increase beyond 12, the Regular Season will render itself nearly useless (Much like Basketball is now).
