But, they needed work for awhile. You could tell when watching the move in videos.

if you are a student just trying to scrape enough money together to pay tuition and pay for groceries.
But it will not due in the modern world of NCAA football.

Lightsy is ok for your average college student

They are standard college apartments. A lot of them have some age. With a remodel, they would be above average I guess.
In the days of facilities arms races, we might be behind. Lightsy is pretty remote from the practice fields and from class.
The challenge would be to build a village for them, but maintain integration with the student population.

I think our guys are living two to an apartment. That’s what the new “Gator Standard” will be. Seems they had them 4 to a unit with common area which I think is more like most college housing for 1st and 2nd year gen pop?

Current player housing is fine here at clemson. The gators have had subpar player rooms for a long time. Mcelwain tried to fix it for them and Napier is taking the next step but this has been one of the biggest complaints by recruits and players for them. If you watch the vlog you can see quite a bit of the clemson player rooms and how nice they are

They looked good to me too. A 2br apartment fully furnished with cable etc. And they looked pretty nice to me.

Do we still have ANY NCAA rules? The rule used to be student-athletes could NOT live in special dorms. Maybe football players are no longer STUDENT-Athletes, just ATHLETES. And these new millionaire Athletes can now buy their own homes or apartment buildings.

I wondered the same. I’m fairly sure this was one of the main issues of disagreement when Danny was fired? He was pushing for new football player housing and Lennon and company didn’t want it? I know there were other issues too.

Nothing wrong with having nice living conditions - so long

as it is common to all students and not just the athletes.
I can understand having separate/specialized training facilities for the athletes but on campus housing/living conditions should be a somewhat common standard for all college students.
If the football players keep getting segregated from the rest of the school population with nothing but special perks that the general student body doesn't get then at what point are they really no longer college students?

Those poor kids are being exploited. They are being used by those greedy coaches and universities who want to make millions of dollars for themselves while the players can't even afford to take their girlfriends out for a pizza.
When will we demand the schools quit getting rich and start giving the kids some of that money?
(Insert sarcasm emoticon here.)
