Triggered by the thread on Feagin transferring out, but not limited to just that position.

I have no idea what teams will do this summer. Somehow they are going to go from 85 to 105 in ships. General consensus is that schools will just take their "20 best walk ons" and give them a ship.

I'm wondering if some schools will be looking for G5 or even FCS freshmen (or even redshirts) who want to "transfer up" and are willing to go to a "bigger school" rather than stay where they are, even if it means sitting on the bench (or even being "scout team" members for a year).

Example: Stretch Smith was a freshman WR at Coastal Carolina, or even Presbyterian. He had a good season. Would he be willing to go to Clemson, or Georgia Tech )for example, knowing he will be reshirted (probably) next year with the idea he can develop and play "big time football" in 2026?

Just wondering. Maybe not all players are transferring in search of immediate playing time.

I wonder how many on our (or others) roster that are pwo? Knowing Dabo, he's probably got a grading system. It will be interesting. To your point though, it'll take a couple years to get to the point we'd take any.

But what happens to the walk ons that are over 105? Do they transfer down? If I understand correctly, you won't be able to carry anyone over 105.

I think most that don’t make the cut of 105 will stay at Clemson and probably fill other needs like student assistant. Some will transfer to a smaller school just depending on what year they are on getting Clemson degree.
