Guys this is some good stuff and I think you should check it out if you have a chance. The guy is a UGA fan but he knows his stuff. Doesn't sugarcoat anything and tells it like it is. The good, the bad and the ugly. Video is pretty long but a great watch if you have some time. Video starts at 2:20 ...

So this guy is saying that Bockhorst is such a liability on our O line, that he hopes that his Mom isn't listening to what he's saying.

For clarity, the guy doing this video, Brooks Austin, isn't a UGA fan, but he does cover UGA for SI. He started up doing his own thing as "The Film Guy" in the late 2019 or so by breaking down film of UGA's games and then breaking down the upcoming opponents. He was a college center at Shorter, and breaking down the OL is where his passion still lies.

He would be a good follow for the Clemson guys that want to see what opponents may be seeing on tape instead of just going along with the sunshine pumping.

That was informative, I learned some things that I didn't know for sure. I know that RC gets a lot of flak for how bad our OL played last year (and previous years). Based on seeing this film, is the poor play a result of lack of natural talent? A result of the type of OL player we recruit (to fit this ? Or do we only get these types of OL recruits based on the style of offense we run? I can't help but wonder if we would run the same style of plays if we had say, Alabama's OL? One thing is for certain, if our OL plays bad we are going to have a tough time this game. But I am cautiously optimistic that a full off season for these guys will improve their play.

Same here and great response. Learned some things and well. I enjoy some good, KNOWLEDGEABLE, honest insight from someone on the outside looking in, that will point out things we may over look or just don't truly appreciate or take for granted.

I agree that it is somewhat reasonable analysis...

But why choose that game? ND teed off on the O-line trying to make DJU beat him in his first start. ND loaded the box and keyed on Etienne (and lack of QB run).

A better analysis of the OL may be the second ND game when the defense had to respect our whole play book.

He says he chose that one due to it being only one of two games DJU started and it was against as close to the talent level at Georgia between the two starts. I too would like analysis of the second game because we looked so much better. I'd also like to see the same analysis of the line in the OSU game to see if they attacked our OL the same way as ND did in the first.

He points out weaknesses for Bockhorst and McFadden that could make the Georgia game interesting.
We can cakewalk through the ACC with this OL but Georgia is talented on the line.
It will be interesting to see if our line has improved.

For a little more context for you, that same guy did a breakdown on UGA's presumptive starter at the Jack OLB position #4 Nolan Smith.

To sum up, Nolan was 24/7's Composite #1 overall player in the recruiting class of 2019 and has not really lived up to that level of hype at this time. Brooks' argument was that Nolan never even should have been ranked that highly due to a lack of measurables. At 6'2.5", he just doesn't have the natural length to engage and shed some of the better, more physically gifted OTs out there. It's not talent. It's not work ethic. It's not coaching. It's just plain and simple he wasn't born with the genetics to have longer arms, and without those he's at a physical disadvantage when going up against OT's with the prototypical arm length. Period. He went on to show clips of Bama's OT Alex Leatherwood just long arming Smith to the point of being almost comical seeing how Smith's arms just couldn't reach Leatherwood's chest.

And, of course, that relates to the UGA/Clemson matchup because he'll often be lining up against Clemson's McFadden who also doesn't have the prototypical size for his position. This will really be an interesting matchup to watch.
